100% agree on Bush.

I'd also like to see the Pats take a run at David Harris. I know ILB isn't a need but it would be fun to see the Jets forums explode and it would also make the Jets pay a premium for Harris's services and when the cap returns the Jets are going to have to make some tough decisions.

That would be a spit in the face of the Jets for sure. I wouldn't mind making a run at Shaun Ellis either. He's getting old, but he's still the best DL the Jets have. He could give you 2 good years. And he certainly knows the system.

Vonta Leach, a huge reason for Fosters rushing record

Mankins even if it is JUST the tag then try and reach a deal e.g. Wilfork deal.
BGJE - try and resign him longer even though he is a RFA.
DeAngelo Williams - can't see it.
WR - Tall, deep threat.
Safety that doesn't tackle his OWN teammates.
Cornerback - not too bothered, can try and get one in the draft.

One player I really want if he leaves college is Mark Ingram.

Re: 2010 Free Agent "Let's Sign This Guy" Thread

Harrison and Colvin were signed to fair value contracts, not tens of millions of dollars.

Moss was traded for, but like I previously mentioned, he became a FA at the end of that season and signed with the Pats for 3 more years.

That's re-signing a player.. That's not signing a UFA..

Guess you missed Belichick's mantra... "We're not collecting talent. We're building a team."

Why do people think that Bodden, at age 30 who is coming off a SHOULDER injury" is going to have problems returning to form?? Seriously?? I heard this BS and no one has had a single legit reason as to why he wouldn't come back 100%.

Making things up again? Where's the part that I said he'd have problems coming back? I said he was 30 coming of a year on IR, which he will be, everything else is a figment of your imagination.

Priority One:

Logan Mankins

Priority Two (Pass Rush/Outside Linebacker):

LaMarr Woodley

Back to your regularly scheduled program. ;)

I'm not you.. I don't need to make things up. I may get things wrong on occasion and admit when I do, but I don't make things up.

No. What is a figment of my imagination is that you might actually be intelligent. Clearly you have a guilty conscience otherwise you wouldn't have taken a general question and gotten your panties in a wad about it.

Also, why mention that Bodden is 30 and coming off of IR unless you mean to detract from him? You don't mention things like that unless you feel it will be an issue.

The fact that Bodden is 30 doesn't mean anything.. Asomugha turns 30 in June. Bailey turns 33 in June.. Who cares.. 30 isn't as big of a deal for CBs as it is for RBs and other players.

Sorry, but I can not find any references that it was Scott Pioli. I can references to Bill Belichick and it being a Patriots Mantra. And it being on a sign at Gillette..

If you could find a reference that Scott Pioli said it, great. But Ron Jaworski credits it to BB as late as September 2010..

ESPN NFL Bill Belichick and the Bullseye Gameplan

It was probably an organizational mantra that both used because I swear I've heard both of them say it.

I'd love to see the Pats bring in the following:
John Kuhn to be the FB/Short yardage specialist.. Guy is just a monster.

I love for Michael Bush to be brought in, but he's still young enough that someone is going to make him a starter.. Ditto for Deangelo Williams

I would no be surprised if the Pats brought in Pierre Thomas and/or Cadillac Williams.

Harvey Dahl, from Atlanta, sounds like the kind of nasty RG the Pats would love to have to replace Neal..That being said, I don't remember the last starting guard the Pats signed from another team..

Shaun Ellis could be a guy the Pats look at if they don't like what they see in the draft..

The Pats could also look at Alan Branch or Gabe Watson if they look to FA for help on the D-Line.

Chris Gocong could be on the Pats radar at OLB.. He is someone the Fans have wanted..

Manny Lawson is also set to be a free agent..

For Safeties, I'd love the Pats to add Tom Zbikowski or Sabby Piscatelli.

Like I said, I could not find any references to Pioli saying it. I found references to BB saying it and it being attributed to him..

They'll sign light to a 2 year deal.

Resign Faulk? Are you kidding? What is he 35 now? Coming off a knee surgery?

Mankins GONE. Possibly franchised but I doubt it. Not worth 9M per 1 year.

No ochostinko. He's an amusing clown if he's in someone else's locker room. They just got rid of Moss, think they want another diva? You insane?

They'll get a few randoms who no one has heard much about who might do better in this syterm than in the systerm they were in.

That's about it.

BB has FINALLY learned not to go after washed up vets.

Ngata, yeah, let's "trade a 1st and 2nd for him"! Sure, and pay him 10M per year as well at least. It's not the draft picks, it's the salary. Unaffordable.

Michael Bush makes some sense if he's cheap enough.

I believe back when Pioli was getting some of the credit the media didn't want Bill to get it was pointed out in several stories that that was on a sign hanging on the wall in his office. What people often forget is who taught Pioli most of everything he knows about evaluating talent and assembling a team to fit a system...

Scott did say it many times on radio when they were after him about sexy FA's and the like...

I was actually talking to my friend about Ngata yesterday....I would give up a 1st and 2nd round pick for Ngata....He is a MONSTER.....He can play the run, rush the passer, do it all.....He is the only raven that I like and adding a CB + pass rushing OLB we would be set for the next 5 years on defense.....

How can you not like Ed Reed?

I'd like to see Champ Bailey with the pats! McCourty + Bailey has a duo that would be killer. I know he's not playing at the level he used to but he's still very good. I think he's sick of losing too so maybe he'd take less money?

Guys like Woodley/Hali/Foster are nothing more than a pipe dream. BB isn't gonna give any free agent from another team a giant payday with all the draft picks they might have to pay this year.

Resign Mankins first and foremost, even if it means giving him the top 3 guard money he deserves. Kontra already said this but the line has been a completely different animal since Mankins came back, with all the turnover that's gonna happen at O-line in the next few years, they need to keep Mankins as the anchor/leader.

Give Light a 2 year deal

Mike Bell and Ricky Williams as two cheap guys to complete the RB core beyond BJGE and Woodhead.

If he's not too expensive then Shaun Ellis. A veteran on the line other than Wilfork who'd still be good if he isn't playing every down (which he wouldn't), and without him the Jets' D-line becomes an absolute mess.

There's no particular receiver they should sign, but please don't bring in the next Joey Gallaway/Torry Holt wash-up and expect him to make an impact. The most they should do at receiver is draft someone later on who would have to fit in with the offense. Right now they have a group of productive receivers without anyone who'd ever complain about touches, lets keep it that way.
