First installment is early free agency. Analysis points to needs in the back seven on defense and depth everywhere.

How does it work?
Glad you asked, it is a simple spreadsheet that uses Red, Yellow, Green indicators to highlight team depth (or lack there of).

Steps
1) Download file (Must have MS Excel installed)
2) Update ranking in columns M, O, Q, S

Heatmap is represented in columns B-E

Scale
10 - Hall of Fame
9 - Pro Bowl
8 - Very good
7 - Solid
6 - Average
5- Below average
4- Marginal
3 - Unproven
2 - Should not be in NFL
1 - Not in NFL

If I understand you correctly, you believe that we have only two solid backups on the team: Faulk and Green. They should be solid. They are being paid as starters. So much for quality depth at reasonable prices!

I am a hard grader. Faulk, Taylor and Green are excellent backups. Bruschi, Hochstein, TBC, Wilhite, Maroney, Aiken are good backups. The rest are various shades of JAG soup.

My grades don't matter though, the point is for each person to fill it out based on their own rankings.

Updated version, post draft.

The graphic is hard to read, the excel file is more fun.

See you in August.
