I looks like we have some work to do.
The cutting of Stallworth is roughly offset by the cap hit of the #7 pick. The unearned LTBEs offset by the earned NLTBEs. The signing of the ERFAs, the balance of the draft class, and the escalators gets us to the region of the cap number or a little beyond ($116m). That gets us roughly to 51 (depending on the draftees), not including the RFA's, Wright and Brown.
We can save Colvin's $5.5m base salary by cutting him, or save a few million by resigning him. We could save a few million by extending/restructuring Tom. Harrison's $3m salary would be trimmed if he retired or was cut.
That doesn't seem to give us a lot of wiggle room and there doesn't seem to be a lot of significant options. Nickel and dime stuff remains, however.
Trading back from #7 would be highly desirable. I'd be willing to take a pass at Moss, too in favour of defensive improvement and a cheaper option at wideout.
Interesting times begin. That season was not enjoyable for me. Too much stress. Let's go back to winning Superbowls and forget about this perfection/greatest team ever BS. Let's go back to flying slightly under the radar with a solid ball control offense and a fast, physical defense.
