Are you picking for Bakes, Seb??

He gave me his list for pick 85 yesterday, and I picked the top guy available. He didn't think he would be online for his pick.

Well, Broncos are done.

Justin Harrell, DT
Victor Abiamiri, DE
James Marten, OT
David Clowney, WR

I'm pretty happy with the draft, though I never really was in good position to draft a LB. Nate Webster for SAM I guess.

I'm really glad to be able to get a blue chip prospect in the third round who can contribute in Week One. Usama Young is the best avaliable corner on the board. His competition for nickel back will be old as nails Aaron Glenn and the uninspiring Jacques Reeves. Anthony Henry, the #2 CB, has stuggled a bit, so if all goes well Young can work his way up to a starting position (although Henry may stick around for awhile due to his contract). Young brings much needed leadership and football smarts to the Cowboys secondary.

I will be able to pick tomorrow from 0500 Eastern through to 1900 Eastern or so. I might go out for a bit of shopping, but I'm skint, so there will be no drinking.
If I am due to pick after 1900 Eastern, I'll PM (with their permission) Box, Sey and Sebman, as that should cover the various time zones.
I am available to abuse the Colts whenever you wish. Will you be sending a list of Miss Gcat's approved prospects or just general guidelines for simulating Bill Polian's power trip?

The lovely Miss Cat helped me with the Excel spreadsheet, but declined with the rest of the board. She has learned to switch off when I start rambling about lateral pursuit, ability to disengage and "intangibles". She is out tonight at a friend's house and is then getting up tomorrow at 6 to be a First Aider for the Marathon.
I am happy to PM you a list of what I consider needs and BPAs. Given that you are someone with knowledge of these things, I'll give you some licence to play with it.

H'mm, The Miss Gcat is out of the bag and I'm given license to thrill as Bill Polian Jr., can things get much worse for society?

I suspect not. Here's something to ponder, though. I am unsupervised until tomorrow afternoon (or tomorrow morning, your time). I'm currently composing my thoughts. I'll PM you before 1900 EST.

I was very high on Harrell. I think he has a big future ahead of him and has all the intangibles that teams seek. In fact, I had him at the top of my board at one point. Otherwise, I think that's a solid list. BTW, I forgot to say congrats for your new arrival. How's the sleep thing going?

I factored that in to my societal disaster considerations.

PM sent. Have fun!

Usama Young in the 3rd round? A bit of an early reach but I guess you're gambling on his freakish athleticism to pan out and for him to be "coached up".

Bwahahahahahaha! Using my Polian megalomaniac side I will first turn up my thermostat, then issue threats to NY Jets GM Flying Fungi who had better not pick a player I want, or else!

By all accounts Young's stock is rising fast... NFLdraftscout has the Pats taking him in the 3rd round at pick #91.

Sleeping? What's that?? Seriously, it's been okay. Not much continuous sleep, but we're able to get segments totalling 5-6 hours per night. Now if we'd just get to be earlier, it might add up to something.

Seymour, I don't fault the pick, but I am curious as to your reasoning to skip over Wright, Irons, Brown, Davis, etc.

Also, what do y'all think of Alleman? From what I've gathered, he's a helluva next year kind of guy. Solid 10-year guy.

Similar curiosity with Clowney. He runs the board on opinion. Love or hate. He was up there on my pick list. Seems he suffers from second guessing about what he should've done vs. what he done did. Yet, he gets a ++ for receiving, blocking, after-the-catch, etc. He should slip into the 3rd/4th. On the radar? For whom?

Perhaps this is early (sorry Bakes), but we're towards the end of the third out of four. I'm guessing drafters mentalities have relaxed a bit. I posed this question before and got nary a response. So I ask again...

After ~ 3 rounds: Who are your surprise slips/reaches? Best/worst pick? The guy that was picked in x-1 round that you thought would be there at x?

Particularly to Patchick: What are your thoughts thus far?

your erstwhile addled brain will be evermore troubled when I crank up the speakers on your computer--don't even think of hassling the ground crew

Having no 4th round selection, The New York Jets are done.

We feel that we drafted successfully for value and upgraded the team significantly with the following selections:

Dwayne Bowe as the large possession receiver to compliment Cotchery and Coles
Jonathan Wade as a future #1 CB under the tutelage of Eric Mangini, former DB coach of the Super Bowl Champion Patriots
Ray McDonald will contribute immediately on an aging DL
Samson Satele, who prior to 2006 played OG, will replace Brandon Moore and compliment Nick Mangold, D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Pete Kendall in one of the leagues best Offensive Lines

boo-yah

A very athletic, zone blocking OG whom Dante worked out. Is there any more to say other than, which style of OL is needed to open holes for Maroney?

We have 14 minutes until the Eagles deadline so we might have to vote on this pick, be ready.
