Way better than my family's claim to fame. My great grandfather played cards with The Sundance Kid, beat him, and lived to tell about it. My great grandmother sold her idea for the mechanical pencil for $300.

No family members played college football or in the NFL.

Wow, extremely cool early league history. Thank you for putting it out there. Those early guys must have been nuts... little (or no) head protection, brutal conditions (opposing locker room optional, etc.,) all for $100 a game. Seems that's enough to buy a new Oldsmobile over the course of a season (Morris County NJ historic price survey 1908-2008) but not much more.
