QB rankings according to coaches, executives and scouts

I really want to see Maye when he has time to throw - which didn't seem to be much of the time last year. Anything in the 6-10 range right now is great for him. Takes a couple of years to really prove it beyond that.
He was the best 10+ downfield passer in the nfl last year

Lmao. That is all.

The Mike Felger model is way too prevalent in 2026. Just like Felger does not believe half the **** he says, there is no way Simms believes this. But it generates a lot of clicks and attention and that is all they care about. It makes me appreciate Reiss that he has not gone down this path even though it has probably cost him money and attention.

It’s fair to question if Mahomes is a top three quarterback. He isn’t coming off a bad statistical year. He’s coming off a bad statistical year where he went six and nine. If this is based on where QBs are right now, he does not really have the same fallback in the past when you could always say he won 13 games and was fire with the game on the line.

That said, I still think he’s top five but time will tell.

Not all of the factors in those 3 losses were his fault.
No but none of the reasons they won were him.
Sports in the social media age has created a dynamic where if you fail
and have an excuse people call you better than the guy who succeeded, which he also did by overcoming excuses.

It amuses me that this fanbase is writing Mahomes post-mortem after a mid-career period of decline during a roster transition.

Certainly Brady never looked bad in, say, 2006 or 2013, or late 2015 when the entire offense seemed to be on IR.

Don't be shocked when he's an MVP candidate again in 2027.

To the Mahomes is washed up Pats haters. Not many moons ago the Great BB who You all have a statue erected of called Mahomes one of the Elite QB's. My my how to mighty have fallen according to some of you.

I can see KC going on a second run like the Pats did.

Mahomes looked awful last year. He has been beaten up a lot. I think the jury is still out.
Mahomes is interesting to me.
Early in his career he carried that team, but he was in a system and had weapons that were a huge help.
As the weapons normalized his play suffered. So thee is an argument he is a product of his weapons.
But he won. There is no dispute or counter argument to winning.
I think he was overrated by many because of a few unusual plays, no look, behind the back etc that are really not as important as made out to be.
But he won.

Over the last 3 years the chiefs offense has been very mediocre. They have become a team that wins on defense.

Last year the offense was bad. The defense was excellent and they still couldn’t win.

I think that 80% of the QBs on 80% of the plays produce very similar results. The difference in numbers esp per pass from the top to the mid isn’t huge.
The difference in QBs is what do you do when it’s all on your shoulders. Whether that’s in a game situation or in a season that you need to carry a weak team.

Mahomes looked elite in that analysis until the last 3 years and in those last 3 he looks like a guy who has a penchant for late game heroics but hasn’t been elevating his team.

This.
Peyton manning was a bust of a draft pick for the Colts.

One ring in 13 seasons with one of the most loaded offenses in nfl history.

7 one and dones? Even josh allen laughs at that..

We're at the point where keeping score doesn't even matter anymore.
I thought PEDton had 9 one and done playoffs.

Yup, he was "one and done" nine times. But Peyton is still in the press and on lots of commercials so he still ranks high. Over time he will fade.

The guys with lots of SB rings will always rise to the top over time. Long term the top 3 will be the QBs with the most SB wins, Brady, Montana, and Maye.

I went and looked it up. He had seven one and done playoffs in twelve years with Indy and two in four years with Denver (one of those losses came against Indy).

Basically, he was put into an expansion division for twelve years where he could amass some numbers vs the little sisters of the poor in the regular season, and then for four more seasons he went to a team with a top defense.

Years ago I saw four lists of clutch QBs and PEDton was only on one of them, and he was at #9.

No, No, and No.

No, No, and No.
Mahomes is 30 years and had a start to his career amongst, if not the best in the history of the NFL.
We will hear from him a lot more before his career is done.
Remember we went 10 years between our 3rd and 4th SB win.
To write him and the Chiefs off now is crazy.

He never looked this bad.

And he wasn't great the year before that. He's regressed each of the last two seasons.

But if people want to play prisoners of the moment, that's their choice I guess.

The people comparing him to Brady as some sort of longevity defense, when they play the position completely differently, is kind of mind-boggling, but again, expected.
