Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

I don't expect them to win but they are showing a lot of fight.

I hope Embiid’s appendix explodes and he dies.

(Just kidding, I don’t hope he dies)

It's in a landfill somewhere. If it happens to explode he won't know it.

The game was lost once Tatum couldn't play. Sixers were arguably the better team when healthy even with Tatum. Brown ain't that guy.

down 4 with 8 minutes to go

"Couldn't" play or WOULDN'T play? Whether he could have toughed this one out is the question. Knee "stiffness" does not explain much in terms of injury. Then we see him sharing a yuck with Embiid right afterward. Ugh.

Time to blow up the team. I knew Philly would get back them some time. The Brown/Tatum time is over.

Trade :White, Hauser
Listen :Brown, Tatum and Pritchard.

Teams DNA is junk. Only won a title when the other teams' best player was out.

The story of New England sports in 2026 (except the Red Sox) . . . overachieve and then let us down in the playoffs.

At this point, I think Mazzulla has to be on somewhat thin ice. "Hope the 3s fall" is not viable as a team's only strategy. They were something like 49/179 from 3 in their four losses.

I read that Joe said the team took the decision out of his hands. I'm sure Tatum wanted to be out there.

Entertaining game, at least. Fought like hell. Just shot poorly. Queta had a nice game.

In my mind, this season was lost when they traded Simons, a pure shooter, for Vooch, who is not. When the others were missing their shots in several games this year, Simons saved their asses.

And btw - the flu sucks. I've never been this sick, even when I had Covid.

They live and die by the 3 - when it works it works and when it doesn't, you need a real center for the inside game.

I don't think we can even lament not having Horford or Porzingas at this point in their careers (not that we could afford them) - but it does show that with just one more quality piece, plus all the money they can pump into the team once they get through next season, could have them very dominant for a nice stretch.

They might be able to trade for that final piece at C next season without triggering the luxury tax and either extend them the next season or go back to the marketplace with all the $ they need.

This season is unexpected gravy, much like the Patriots, but they still need to take advantage of this opportunity - no excuses
Agreed here. This season reminds me of the patiots season in a sense as where no one expected the Cs to even be the 2 seed. Admittedly I didn't see them losing in the first round but I give the Sixers credit they got Embid back and it pretty much saved thier season...
I love the way the Cs have developed thier players. The future is bright for the Cs and next season with more talent and experience on the roster I'd doubt a Embid that will be 33 and a George that will be 37 will play the same way they have this series if we see them in 2027.

I haven't followed the NBA for 20 years - lousy basketball played by self-adoring twats - but I caught a brief interview with Mazzoula after the game. What a narcissistic blowhard. I wouldn't hire him to manage a Frialator station. I know the players in the NBA smoke a lot of dope. I guess the coaches are following suit?

I lost confidence after game 4 if I'm being honest. I didn't like the way they were playing and they looked like a different team that got the number 2 seed. Nonetheless even if they won Tatums availability was in question going forward.. sixers are running into a hungry team in the NYK.. this season they are a tougher matchup than we were.

Good to see that Jaylen Brown called out Embiid's flopping.

I do wish that the NBA could do something about that stuff.
