I'd be careful about signing Baun to the Big Money contract: he really didn't do much during his time in NO before signing a one-year deal with the Fecals, who let's face it have the run defense, pass rush, coverage AND co-ordinator to make Any Linebacker look good... And this is coming from someone who really liked him during the 2020 draft process, much, MUCH more than I ever did Josh Ouche, for whom Little Billy & his incompetent toady Little Nicky Cesar (& Nike too) traded UP to acquire ahead of him.

If you need to correct your post go do it, I read what you said and replied to it. And I quoted it fully. There’s an edit feature you can use, or you can just admit that what you said was stupid.
Yeah, and this is what I said minutes later, a couple posts down, on the same exact page:

“The Rams have the 15th most cap space in the league and don't have a bunch of high value free agents available. If they don't want to prioritize their starting left tackle, then he probably isn't worth it.”

This was the context of the conversation you’re replying to. I also said he was not athletic.

I think he is more a system player. So I would be super cautious about signing him for that AAV.

Build the trenches . Josh sweat could be had for similar amount and he might do more if we pair him with white.

We might need to sign gonzo and white in 2 years from now . So keep the contracts with an out after 2 years.

We have one. He's just going to play in-position now.
Fair enough, and we dont really know how McD will run

My point was more that Gibson deserves at least 2nd PRB, which in a RB comittee, gets already lots of touches

He'll be more Kevin Faulk than Shane Vereen, but still he'll be the 'receiving back'. He'll just get more touches running the ball as well.

Running it back with Jonathan Jones seems like a pretty bad option.
Why? The D had a great defensive backfield last year, they didn’t suck because of “talent.” They sucked because of coaching and scheme. It was largely the same defense from the year prior that was one of the better defenses in the AFC. They also had a second stud last year in Marco Wilson and the moron coaches decided zone defense was a better option than man and to bench Wilson.

There are some very good “big” CB’s out there in free agency that can play opposite Gonzo. Their offensive and defensive lines are a joke, they need to fix those.

When thinking about his connection to Vrabel and whether he’d be interested in going to New England as a culture setter, there’s this:

“I feel like it’s changed in the sense that, and I know a lot of guys have said this, but I feel like it’s real," Landry said, per Terry McCormick of Titan Insider. "I feel like now when guys show up here now, that they feel like they can be confident and be themselves and they can operate how they know they best operate to perform as good as they can on Sundays, because everybody is different,” Landry said. “I feel like guys are happy that they can come into the building and kind of trust the work that they’ve been putting in.”

“I feel like the old way was everybody was kind of locked into one way of doing things,” Landry added. “But now the box has been opened. There’s so many more people involved in the preparation process. Like for guys who have done it for awhile, there’s a trust between us and the coaching staff that everybody has different ways to prepare for the game. And I just feel like now, we have that trust and confidence coming into the building, everybody can kind of not necessarily be locked into one box, but guys know what they need to do to get ready for Sunday.”

Harold Landry's comments on Titans culture is bad look for Mike Vrabel | Sporting News

It reads similar to me as the comments from players about moving from Belichick to Mayo. And ultimately with similar results.

I'm sure Jaire Alexander's name will be posted soon since Rapsheet says he could be traded.

I'd pass on him and any other "injury prone" type of player considering where we're at as a team. I hope to turn it around and be competitive as soon as possible, but I don't have much realistic hope of winning a SB in the next few years. I favor stability and dependability vs. gambling on the health of someone who has higher upside. IMO, those are the type of guys you add to an otherwise good team and hope you can manage them through the season to the playoffs so you can have the best roster possible for those playoff games. A team like us that's trying to get back to being competitive, I think there's more value in someone you feel better about penciling into the lineup each week with an acceptable level of performance so you don't have gaping holes on the depth chart that make it hard to develop guys at other spots.

Another OL on the market. Pretty average starter when healthy.

This OL market is way deeper than people realize. No excuse not to be active.

TE Juwan Johnson is an interesting FA target for me. He was highly ranked in explosive plays and depth of targets for the TE spot last year, despite also being a red zone target as well. Those red zone targets are low depth of target and not explosive plays so the fact that he'd rank highly in those areas even with those targets "weighing down" his averages is impressive. Having him as a big slot who can play on the line would help make up for the fact that we have more Z receivers than a true X and that the FA market is mostly guys better off as the Z instead of Xs too. The best offenses are ones who can attack you in multiple parts of the field from different positions. He'd add some new elements to our offense.

Unless Higgins is allowed to walk (and chooses to come here), we probably won't land a true X receiver this year unless it's through the draft where there doesn't seem to be too many day 1 studs out there. So as a "backup plan" to that in free agency we'd do well to pursue guys who bring added matchup dimensions. In addition to Johnson I'd also make a strong run at Aaron Jones who gives you unique receiving flexibility as still a true 1st and 2nd down back. With a good OC like McDaniels, that's how you give him formation and matchup flexibility to generate offense.
