I know bill does not value getting pressure much.

But yesterday it was clear as day the patriots did not get to foles 1 time.

In the offseason how can this be addressed?

Belichick does not value undisciplined pass-rushers who can't play edge contain or maintain gaps. He favors a scheme that disguises where pressure may be coming from on any given play - and from which players - over having one elite, easily identifiable pass rusher.

To say that he "doesn't value getting pressure" is a big stretch.

It was also "clear as day" yesterday that the Eagles OL was every bit as good as it was reputed to be.

It was also clear all season that the Pats lost 3 of their four up-front pressure guys to FA and retirement, a critical rotational interior DL to IR at the start of the season, an important rotational OLB at the start of the season, and Hightower after seven games - and that the entire front-seven, aside from Brown, Trey Flowers and Van Noy, was patched together from rookies, rotational reserves, practice squadders and special teamers, a 31-year-old journeyman DT And a 39-year-old refugee from the Steelers.

BTW - the "vaunted" Eagles DL pressure guys got very little effective pressure on Brady until Graham finally broke through a block by Mason with two minutes left in the game. IIRC, Brady only got hit 3-4 times in the first three quarters.

I'd love a trade up for Vea. He's that power inside BB craves. with enough agility to get a decent push. Honestly, I'd bring Harrison back. Could be a nice mentor for guys like; Rivers, Butler(dt) and Wise. Edge rushers are really expensive. We just don't have the space. And, there aren't many available.

The Brady fumble was because Brady took too long getting rid of the ball in that play. Not Mason's fault...

Honestly, I want to see what "needs" the Pats are able to cover (with relatively limited cap space) in FA before even considering losing one of the six draft picks to move up. The Pats have a lot of weak areas to address, and regardless how good a guy looks on game film or on paper, he's still just a prospect who has never played a down in the NFL

You could trade up for Vea. 31&63. Then move back from 43 to get a 3 back.

Harrison was the only one who showed any consistent rush, but we see the importance of the big play changing the game. Big time plays usually made by big time players.

Their D made the key stop, while ours didn’t. We had a golden opportunity to stop them on 4th and 1 and failed.

FYI Trey Flowers was the highest rated Pats player by PFF in that Superbowl.. not a huge fan of PFF, but it is a metric. BB puts more emphasis on "holding the edge" than he does on sacks..

Refocused Super Bowl Edition: Philadelphia Eagles 41, New England Patriots 33 | NFL Analysis | Pro Football Focus

TOP 5 GRADES:
Edge Trey Flowers, 88.2 overall grade

CB Stephon Gilmore, 87.5 overall grade

TE Rob Gronkowski, 84.3 overall grade

CB Eric Rowe, 82.6 overall grade

QB Tom Brady, 79.6 overall grade

Belichick values pass rushers. Just not guys that only rush the passer. You need to play the run, set the edge, and sometimes drop into coverage in his defensive scheme. That said, we do need some depth up front. Outside of Flowers, who was doubled a good amount, the Eagles didn't need to worry about anyone else getting to Foles. I'd still say LB is the first priority with DT after that, followed by DE. Rivers was having a promising camp and is coming back next season. Wise will be in his second year as well.

The only turnover we forced this playoff year was one where their wr tipped the ball to our safety.

We played Marcus Marietta, Blake bortles, and nick foles.

No playmakers . In a game like this, one play can essentially end it which is what philly finally got.

The secondary will need a corner if Butler walks. But the front is what needs to be addressed. Sans Hightower, this team was completely bereft of a game-changing playmaker and it caught up to them. I would have counted Flowers in there prior to the game, but he was being doubled and essentially rendered helpless. The disturbing thing is that nobody else was capable of consistently pushing the pocket when that happened.

No wonder, other are mostly JAGs. You could replace either one of them and no one probably would have noticed it.

Agree, James White was open on the right, within a split of a second of the snap. I don't know was the big rush to look down field for a deep throw on 1st down with over 2 minutes to go.
