I was waiting for one of the dimwits on that team to guarantee a win.... Finally... I knew it was just a matter of time...

Alshon Jeffery: 'We're Bringing That Trophy Back to Philly'

Responding to a question about what would need to happen in order for the Eagles to beat the New England Patriots, Jeffery interjected and made a bold proclamation.

"Ain't no 'if,' man. When we win on Sunday, ain't no telling what we're going to do," he said Thursday, per the News Journal's Martin Frank. "But we're probably going to celebrate, have some fun.

"We're bringing that trophy back to Philly."

You don't say....

I know. The game needs to start before I wind up in a rubber room

The guy who said this just gave the pats a great gift

So dumb. Of course you want to believe that as a player, but you don't say that.

It's 100% bulletin board material.

And, quite frankly, I have seen a ton of delusion coming out of Philly with this "destiny" crap, but then I think of this:

1. What is the best QB and offense they've faced this year? Might it be the PAts on Sunday?
2. What is the best D? Might it be NE's on Sunday?
3. How is Foles on the road compared to home? Not as good.
4. Why is a QB's average passer rating 100.5 against their D to RBs/TEs? How is this not a serious problem along with what Gronk means?
5. Why is the media disrespecting NE's good D and acting like Philly's is the best since the '85 Bears?
6. Why is the media ignoring 3 rings in 4 years, to boost up the players into Pats lore similar to the 2001-2004 players' level?
7. Why is the 125 passer rating allowed by McLeod not a topic of discussion?

I could go on, but I know why the media is disrespecting this Pats team and glossing over facts and pertinent aspects of the analysis.

We only have 48 hours to go.....

Imho its a little late in the game (no pun intended) for that to really take hold. If he had said it last week or earlier this week it would give the pats time to really focus on it and get amped up.

That'll fire the team up prior to kick off, but it will mean absolutely nothing once the game starts. Still, it's a good thing to help the squad focus on their tasks at hand prior to the game whether that's in the final walk-through, whatever film they're still watching, and in team meetings.
