Matt Chatham started Football by Football a couple of years back. While he did discuss Patriots stuff, it was more NFL focused.

This season he launched a new podcast called The REAL THING Patriots Podcast and it’s excellent. He does deep dives into last week’s game and previews this week’s upcoming game. Lots of Xs and Os and insight from years of playing in the Patriots system.

I think this has been posted before but I wanted to remind people about this excellent podcast.

Things I learned from the most recent episode:

- McCourty is playing better than I think he is
- Solder is dealing with “something”
- The strip sack and TD was probably a missed chip block by James White
- Branch made big strides against the Texans
- Communications and execution continues to be a problem
- Defense is fixable

It’s well worth a listen.

You've taken the six degrees of Kevin Bacon to a whole new level.

I usually enjoy his X's and O's stuff, especially the ST's stuff because you don't really get to see that on the TV telecast often. Thanks, OP.

I don't understand how Matt Chatham doesn't mention Clowney holding Thuney on the final sack fumble. Thuney wasn't late! He was being held ala Justin Smith used to do with the niners. Call the hold Chatham!

I got the title for this show...

They called that against Sheard in Dallas in 2015, IIRC. I was like "wha?!?!?"

What I took away from that podcast is that the issues on D are not due to talent. It was communication and execution (and maybe a few head-scratching playcalls).
