None, Patriots will only carry two QBs with Jimmy carrying the clipboard.

What? So who will be the starter? Do you think Brady gets re-instated?

Hoyer would be my best guess. Uncle Rico right behind him. He's a little long in the tooth but who else do you know that can throw a football over dem der mountains?

While there are lots of mediocre QBs available, Brian Hoyer is the only one that has the most important thing the Pats might want—experience in this system.

If they can't get him, which seems unlikely, I think they roll with a rookie. They didn't get an "experienced backup" when Cassel took the helm.

Jimmy Garoppolo will be the backup Week 1-4. Brady will request an en banc and will get a stay and Chief Judge Katzmann will privately court some of his judges to accept the en banc.

Edelmaniac.

Also, Ryan Lindley could be back, or another "veteran".

He'll win somehow. If they can force discovery, Goodell is toast.

How will they force discovery during an appeal? And a defamation suit will take years for the NFl to provide any discovery

Jimmy G remains the backup and BB rolls with the unknown Dom Grady. The prestigious Mel Kiper has concerns about his lack of arm strength, poor build and his lack of ability to avoid the rush but I trust BB will work wonders with this kid.

Rico would have been the GOAT. Shame he's stuck feeding that fat lard Tina instead of out there on Sunday.

It makes sense to draft a QB this year and begin grooming him. In the past they have drafted and groomed a QB when the backup had just a year left. They might as well do it a year early considering Brady could miss the first four games. Plus if Garoppolo plays well, they can trade him for a valuable pick while he still has a year left of his rookie contract.

Matt Hasselbeck? Could still win games last season from what I heard and would be a quality veteran presence.

Tebow for the jersey sales alone? I fondly remember how everyone enjoyed having the Tebow fans on this board (/sarcasm)

I think any team that has to use their third-string QB for a meaningful game is in close-yer-eyes-and-pray mode anyways. Rookie is fine with me.

Would love to see JE11 take snaps, if just for curiosity and yuks.

And a defamation suit will take years for the NFl to provide any discovery

If Brady were to file a defamation suit within the next week or two in Massachusetts and his lawyers were relentless there is almost a 100% chance the lawsuitwould enter the discovery part of the case before the season started (Discovery is usually the longest part of the case. It begins soon after a lawsuit is filed and often does not stop until shortly before trial) Now obviously none of it would be public and the trial wouldn't happen for a bit but maybe the nfl doesn't want to turn over something or answer a certain interrogatory

Hasselbeck sounds like the smart choice.

Veteran, local guy, can still play when called upon.

Would be good for four weeks.
