With their first pick in the 2016 Draft, the New England Patriots select...

I'm really confused why somebody would make a thread today to bash a player that hasn't been on the field in 3.5 months but is unanimously expected back next season.

Free floating frustration about the loss. There's a lot of it out there.

No, your Jets are done. Look at your aging roster and Revis-strapped salary cap. Done, done, done.
You could have just said look at your owner .

Another safty like Richards. BB's 2nd round draft usually drives me nuts.

Picking up Lae'l collins after last year's draft would have been nice.

We found this season after Solder went down that he is a well above average left tackle in this league. They do not need a LT. In fact, with Solder back next season, I am not even that concerned about the o-line.

And what kind of left tackle are you expecting to get late in the second round?

Solder is not good at pass blocking and expensive....even if he is back, they need help on the line; that was painfully (ouch) obvious today.

Solder was just signed to a big contract. If he is back? What are you gonna do, cut him and his $20m signing bonus? If you do that, you gotta cut Brady too.

I do agree, though, we will likely cut Cannon (saves over $3M) and try to get a better 3rd tackle (unless they like Waddle who they can keep fairly cheap as a RFA). Solder isn't perfect but he's very good and he's staying. We really missed his mobility in the run game too. Anyway, just wanted to add that I don't disagree completely on needing another OT, just not to replace Solder.

If we were to draft an OT high, Vollmer is the one who could be replaced as he's getting up there; not that I want him gone in any way but of the two, he is the next to go.

I never have a problem drafting linemen. Drafting linemen, offensive or defensive=good.

Having said that, drafting an offensive lineman is in no way driven by dissatisfaction with Solder. That's bananas.

"With the first pick in the 2016 draft the Patriots draft" ... nobody. Roger Gotohell took our pick away because of the fabricated deflategate mess. Now that the 2016 season is upon us (as Patriots fans) we can sit home and reflect upon that the entire offseason. And next year too if we again fall slightly short of the Super Bowl. (See this - Roger Goodell's Fatal Mistake: Tom Brady An Innocent Man)

I don't want the PAtriots to draft an OT with their 2nd round pick. I'd rather would sign Mitchell Schwartz out of Cleveland. I think he is an under the radar player and we have good experience with such players e.g. Sheard.

And do what with him? Are you trying to replace Solder/Vollmer, or do you expect Schwartz to come be a backup after starting all 64 games in his career?

I would love to see the Pats draft Carl Nassib out of Penn State to replace Jones...the guy came out of nowhere this year as a senior to lead the nation in sacks...he has a nonstop motor and at 6'7'', 280, also has a great frame. Curious where he'll go because i don't see anyone mocking him in the first round....yet.

I think it would be a good idea to get a "tackle of the future" to groom behind either Solder or Vollmer. At the very least we need a swing tackle to upgrade over Cannon/Fleming.

A brand new running back that can actually make plays on his own.

Yes, this is also on the wish list. I would really like to see a RB on the roster that can legitimately run between the tackles (ie; make plays on his own) while also catching a ball out of the backfield.

Note: I love Dion and he is absolutely electric, but i think we need to upgrade Blount, who is downright atrocious in the passing game and really didn't get much more than what was blocked this year.
