Sports Illustrated cover shows blatant hold that wasn't called on Thomas' only catch

But they're not out to get the Pats they say....

We're paranoid.....

We're touchy....

We "can't take a joke"....

SI is not in the bag for the NFL the way that ESPN is. SI's editors knew exactly what they were putting the cover.

They are all in the bag. SI needs exclusives, they need the NFL monster to sell papers, same way ESPN, FOX, NBC and CBS needs them for viewers and revenue. These corporations are not going to attack the league because they know it will lead to a decrease in money. They kiss tail and in exchange they get the goods or cash. It's all a machine. We all read how the movie Concussion was affected by the power and partnerships of the league.

This is the primary reason for why I am confident that Brady will not go after them, when the Deflategate case is over. He knows that proving he doesn't need deflated balls is more valuable than exposing the league, especially after he retires. It's the slave mentality, we are all victims of this in some form or shape, some of us just refuse to see it.

Should have been 1st and 20 from the Denver 7 instead of 1st and 10 from the NE 47.

Just absolutely frustrating. Brady hits a 50 yard pass and they called holding. On this no call. I don't have a problem if it is called both way but this game was not. For every penalty that was called against the Pats, the refs refused to call them on the Broncos.
All I can say is. WOW, just WOW. When you compare that non-call with the phantom call on Mason, you have to wonder what games those refs were watching.

Now I don't believe that the officials were under orders to screw the Pats, but the PERCEPTION they left was that was exactly what was going on. It wasn't so much a bad call, but rather the volume of bad calls. I had isolated 6 horrific bad calls or non-calls in the last 20 minutes. Now I guess the number is 7.

That's the real problem with this game. Pats got called for stuff that Broncos also did blatantly and weren't called for it.

Holding on the Thomas catch, no call. Yet calls Jackson for a hold.
Illegal hands to the face called on Vollmer. None called on the blatant one on the TD or Von Miller on the play Jackson was called for holding.
If that was OPI on Gronk then it was OPI on Thomas in the end zone not holding. And if that was holding in the end zone, where was the holding call on the 1st TD run, Talib in OT and then Vernon Davis on the game winner.

Yes that was the most aggravating part of the officating. They had such tunnel vision looking for any Patriots infractions that they completely missed or ignored the same type of infractions by the Broncos.

Even that ****wad, Felger agreed; the officiating was horrible to the Pats.

I see even Florio saw it and used the words "blatantly held"

May as well just leave this here too....it is so obvious it is kinda funny...

Unmitigated bullhockey. That and the no-call for roughing the kicker (he hit the plant leg).

Do you know around what time of the game this occurred? Or which drive?

I didn't even notice this, which is pretty indicative of just how many other terrible calls I must have had my mind on.

No surprise there. SI is another affiliate or agent for the league out to sell the big underdog story for the sorry Broncos, for the rest of the season.

If SI wanted to really sell a story, they should put the referees on the cover, for the tremendous job they've been doing this season.
Just like this probably untrue leak by the Broncos designed to give Osweiler Brady's motivation for the rest of his career:

That's funny.. in a sick way. lol

Dude who photoshopped the kid from a Christmas Story into your GIF? That cat is talented, put him in a Gronk jersey and everything!

"The league reportedly removed Pete Morelli’s crew from Week 13’s “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers after mistakes they made in last Sunday’s Arizona Cardinals-San Francisco 49ers game, ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio reported Monday. And ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said the crew was reassigned to the Patriots’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles."

You have to ask the question..... WHY?
