"But how do we feeeeel? About that 8-0 staaaart?"

"AWWWWWWW YEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

Love it.

That WAS subdued. You'd never know that was the winning locker room after a 17 point win.

Most of the time when a player goes on IR he usually disappears from the team. You don't see him in the locker room or on the sidelines, or at practice. That has been the case with Solder. That was the case even with Brady. However there have been exceptions. Last year Jerad Mayo was a constant presence on the sidelines on game days after he was placed on IR, almost like another coach.

I wonder if we will see Dion Lewis still with the team as he goes on IR. Normally you'd think not. He's just in his first year with the Pats. However you get the feeling that Dion made a connection with both the staff and team that was real. NOBODY didn't like Dion Lewis. He was special and that "specialness" went past his football skills.

BTW- I am an inveterate observer of those locker room clips. They are my favorite replays of the week. Couldn't help noticing David Andrews right in the middle of the breakdown this week. Usually Andrews has been shy and withdrawn, normally seen on the edges, like a distant cousin at family dinner. No quite part of "the gang" This week Andrews was right there with Slater, as if he was a veteran core leader. Pretty cool watching his evolution from camp fodder to being the most stable aspect of the OL.

Me too, I love watching the sideline and off-field stuff to the point of obsessing about the personal dynamics i.e. Brady's relationship with the rookies and how they at first are very awkward around him.

Or even, years ago, how everyone seemed afraid to even get NEAR Ted Washington in the lockerroom.

It's almost like Kremlinology and the analysis of the May Day Parade stand in Moscow.

BTW, regarding the subdued nature of that lockerroom after the 17 point win, if that was INDY, Pagano would be weeping and doing backflips the length of the lockerroom.

I remember in one of the early clips this season. Brady comes by to pat Andrews on the back and David replies, "Thank you, sir" Now he's in the middle of it all. Just one of the guys.

Regardless of how this season ends up, I think this is going to be one of my favorite teams of the BB era. And that is saying a lot, because except perhaps the 2009 and 2002 teams, the hallmark of Bill's teams have are that they are close and likable. But this team seems to go beyond those others. Like I've said before it is the kind of element that might win them a game or two when adversity hits.

Another thing I've gleaned from these clips and post game interviews offers a view of the unique mindset that BB develops on his teams. While we go nuts when we talk about how seemingly impossible what they managed to do on Sunday; they seem to have taken the attitude of "so what. That's my job" There was no attitude of "look what we did", or "how amazing are we". Evidently "do your job" isn't just a T-shirt cliche. That's how those guys are trained to think.

It shouldn't have been surprising to find out after the fact, that during the week, they had actually practiced for that eventuality. In other words, Stork knew in advance that he would be playing RT if Volmer got hurt. Flemming knew that he'd be playing, LT and they both got some reps at that position. Granted they were likely just walk thru reps, but at least it wasn't a total shock.

Did you notice at about the 30 second mark that a player went over to another player to help him with his Jersey/Pads.. nice. It seemed as though that was expected..

Kraft can be criticized until he is no longer on this earth, but like his role and how he interacts..
