Mixed messages on Lewis via Schefter:

"Patriots RB Dion Lewis scheduled to undergo MRI on his knee. No swelling yet, a good sign. ACL loose, a bad sign. MRI to tell full story."

looks bad.

nobody can do lewis's job on the team. maybe call cadet???

We need some sort of surgery where they stitch duct tape or something over those ACL and MCL things.

Still say Dri Archer, he's explosive. A swing pass out of the backfield is a guaranteed first down every time. Great speed, good hands.

ACL loose is a VERY bad sign!
Swelling for isolated tear often doesn't happen until overnight

We used to rub dirt on it back in the 1970s (pop warner). My knees are all ****ed up nowadays, probably shoulda had arthroscopic surgery back when I was young, though people never even heard of that surgery back then (very rare for non pros).

If he had a torn ACL he would have swelling due to the torn blood vessels in the ligament. The twitter doctor seems to be somewhat stupid referring to the ACL as lose.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injuries-OrthoInfo - AAOS

Grade 1 Sprains. The ligament is mildly damaged in a Grade 1 Sprain. It has been slightly stretched, but is still able to help keep the knee joint stable.

Grade 2 Sprains. A Grade 2 Sprain stretches the ligament to the point where it becomes loose. This is often referred to as a partial tear of the ligament.

Grade 3 Sprains. This type of sprain is most commonly referred to as a complete tear of the ligament. The ligament has been split into two pieces, and the knee joint is unstable.
