Enough Deflate crap ...

The Patriots made a series of personnel moves on Monday afternoon prior to the start of training camp. According to the official NFL transaction wire, veteran quarterback Matt Flynn was placed on the Non-Football Injury list.

In addition, the team placed eight players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list: Dominique Easley, Dane Fletcher, Chris Jones, Brandon LaFell, Matthew Slater, Vince Taylor, Ryan Wendell and Chris White.

OK, what's up with Flynn?

No Mayo either. Seeing Easley still shelved is disappointing, though.
Agreed. Everyone else I can see as a potential stash and more than likely to be on the field soon, but Easley is most disconcerning considering his history.

Easley before camp courtesy of the Boston Globe.

Waiting for the Fuhrer to make his "decision". Flynn's just a back-up plan and/or camp arm. If Brady gets a repreive we'll go into the season with 2 at QB, if not Brady remains on the roster until such time and they just keep Flynn protected from injury until we need him.

Easley on the PUP is a bummer, you'd think he'd be good to go considering that he's now about a year and a half removed from the injury. Hopefully they're just bringing him along slowly, and there haven't been any setbacks.

I expected Hightower and Mayo to both be on the list, though, so that's awfully encouraging. Mayo must have been rehabbing like a maniac.

I don't see how Easley is not considered a concern at this point. I'm certainly trying not to overreact, but he was shut down late last season and had ample time to work and rehab while games were still being played. What's taking so long?

NE almost always puts a ****-ton of guys on PUP to start camp, so Easley being there is of little to no concern. If he remains there a few weeks into a camp and into the preseason, then it is worth worrying about.

I take this report as entirely positive, since I would have expected Mayo and HT to be on it as well.

Last month at mini camp Easley said his knee was not where exactly he wanted it to be.

Finally some non-DG news...thank you Football Gods.

I'm wondering what kind of problem Easley is having with that knee. Is it a strength issue? If thats the case then it's ok to wait another month or two. My concern is that it was the wrong choice not to have surgery...and even if he did...it may not matter anyway.

Do you be cautious and wait another month or two to see how the knee reacts, have surgery or just do whatever you can to get on the field and be productive no matter what the consequences might be? He may have an important decision to make very soon.

I absolutely HATED the Easley pick and this news just confirms my hatred for the pick. A wasted pick. NEVER take a small defensive tackle who's blown out BOTH knees before he's even been drafted. The year of the receiver and we pick a guy who may never amount to more than a rotational player, IF he could ever get on the field. So many receivers who have been productive, even guys picked in rounds 2-4, and we pick a lame DT.

Easley again?! WTF? He's turning into Ras-I 2.0.

I agree with those who feel Easley is a concern. He about to start year number two injured. There's no way around it.

Wow, a voice of sanity. If Easely misses the first half of the Season or another big chunk of it I can see some cause for concern but serious injuries happen to most players, Easely simply has the misfortune of having them to start his career. The Patriots rarely miss on first round picks and I expect Good things from both Easely and Brown.

Easley said his knee wasn't where he expected it to be......

Ummm..Where did he expect it to be, up around his elbow?
