OT: 5 yr old from Foxborough has one dying wish--to receive lots of birthday cards

"A 5-year-old boy with an inoperable brain tumor has one wish for his birthday: a box full of birthday cards with his name on them.

Danny Nickerson, from Foxboro, Massachusetts, was diagnosed with an inoperable and chemotherapy-resistant tumor this past October. He has stopped going to kindergarten during therapy, and gets lonely, according to his family.

"He can recognize his name now," the boy's mother Carley Nickerson told ABC News. "When he saw his name on the package from magical fairies on Easter, he was so happy."

Nickerson says personalized cards make Danny happy, and has opened a P.O. box to collect letters from well-wishers."​

Since I am a bit further out living down here in Pittsburgh, I penned a quick letter instead, as I want to make sure that it goes out as early as possible tomorrow morning so that it may get there by Friday.

As you said--such a simple and easy thing to do, with the potential to make a very nice difference in terms of his happiness.

I sent young Danny Nickerson 3 cards, a gift card from Target and some kids stickers. I found out about this for El Pres over at Barstool and was on a mission yesterday to spread the word via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

I truly hope their PO Box is flat out broken by the amount of love and support he is going to recieve.

If you are sending a card you too are an amazingly awesome person.

Nice to see so many send well wishes! If anyone still wants to send a quick letter or card, please try and get it in the mail ASAP due to today being his birthday (the 25th).
