You can have your choice. Lose the number one pick and drop to 4 or fire Mayo, Covington and crew. What would you do?

Your options don’t make sense

Option A) Lose the #1 pick, keep Mayo

Option B) Keep the #1 pick, fire Mayo

Who in their right mind would EVER pick option A?

He's saying in a theoretical world, would you take:

1) #1 pick, but your penalty is having to keep Mayo.
2) #4 pick, but no more Mayo.

There are a lot of good players at #4, but only one Mayo who needs to be fired.

I'm interpreting this as
a) Drop down in draft order from #1 to #4 - but as a sweetener, Mayo, Covington et al are replaced.
Or
b) Keep the #1 draft pick, but it comes with an attachment: retaining the pick means also retaining Mayo, Covington, et al.

If the team retains the current staff - coaching as well as front office - it's not going to matter where they draft from.
Improvements will be minimal, while a continued regression is more likely.

So give me the #4 pick, as long as the team can shed itself the entire staff, with only a few minor exceptions.

Take pick #4 and dump Mayo. Problem is though, if the Pats drop to pick number 4, that means theyve won and probably secures Mayo another year.

No bags. We should proudly print up jerseys to wear to the game.

I'd give up the #1 to get rid of Mayo.

Fire Mayo. The Pats could pick first in the draft from now to eternity, but as long as Mayo is HC, they have no chance at being competitive.

If Mayo coached the 07 Pats, I’d bet the house that they would miss the playoffs. He is the most incompetent HC I have ever seen in 40 years of watching this league.

Fire Mayo and his staff. They can get Graham, Carter, or Campbell at #4, they can’t allow the Mayo experiment to continue. Kraft needs to man up and fix what he broke.

I’m sure that was probably the intention but that’s not what was written

We can keep the #1 Pick (and please DO NOT draft Travis Hunter!) and FIRE Mayo and the rest of the Coaching Staff. Problem solved!

I'm not an expert on this, but why would you keep the #1 and not draft Travis Henry?

I think any player they would want will be available at #4, if they don't take Henry.

Ha ha I hijacked a fire Mayo thread to be about real talk.

I want the #1 overall Mayo is just a interium HC for the time being.
