Marcus Jones out too.

This means that the Pats offense must score TDs.
Yup, and what in their last 15 games has shown they can do that more than once or twice a game?
I agree with Curran - if they were going to "break out", they would have by now. Even if we explode with flukey plays and win today, it won't give me any real hope for winning in BUF, or being worthy of a playoff win. Not to be a pooper, but it's just reality this year.

Curran: Back-to-back dominations of the Lions and Browns came with Bailey Zappe at quarterback, fueling the embarrassing Zappe Fever craze.

Ouch. I guess Curran isn’t one of the In Zappe we Trust people…

Yes, I am so very hurt that Tom Curran isn't a fan of Bailey Zappe. Irreparably shaken to my core.

I think anyone saying with certainty that Zappe could replicate his initial success over the long-term and lead the team to great heights is off-base; we have no way of knowing that.

But I find the people who mock Zappe and/or his fans to be equally (if not more) insufferable. The guy played extremely well. Yes, in a very small sample size and with a rocky 2nd half against Chicago, but he played the quarterback position at a high level and to argue otherwise is foolish. Am I convinced he's our savior? No. Do I want to see him get a chance (at some point)? You bet.

Bad enough both rookie Joneses are out,Mills is questionable-- but now Jonathan Jones, the Pats #1 cb and kryptonite to arch-villain Tyreek Hill, may not play due to chest injury.
Holy sign-chumps-off-the-street,Batman!
This is not good. This would have been a Pats' victory with even 2 of those top cbs in the game. Now maybe Hill and Waddle get 200yds apiece?
Let's go New England, pull off the miracle.
Rhamondre 40 carries for 300 yds!

I’m not close to convinced Zappe is or ever will be better than Mac Jones - but I’m sure he will get his chance in camp next season to compete for the job with Mac and whoever else they bring in.

Mac has not locked up the starting role by any means. Zappe at least has a valid excuse that he’s a project. Mac is not a project he was supposed to be the most pro ready QB in that class last year and this year has been dreadful. No he was not set up for success with the coaching situation but that’s too bad… this is life in the NFL more often than not you won’t be on a super-team with all kinds of weapons like Bama had. Kid needs to figure it out or step aside.

I think your take is how the vast majority of Pats fans feel( of whom only a tiny sliver post on this board).
We don't really know what we have with Zappe or Mac. One of them or somebody not on the team yet will be the qb of the future. You really gotta give Mac 2023,with a bona fide OC,to see what he is. But thats it. Everyone knows that. This will be his do-or-die year. Ive seen some things from him I didnt like this year, but the guy was not in position to succeed.
You have to find out.

I think Jones has had this chest injury since last week (16) and he played then. Unless it's gotten worse or been reaggravated, I'd imagine he plays.
