SECOND FA WAVE POSSIBILITIES: 10 WHO MIGHT WORK WITHIN OUR $

I'd like to see them sign some of the players on this list but fear they only have enough cash to sign second and third stringers.

SECOND FA WAVE POSSIBILITIES: 10 WHO MIGHT WORK WITHIN OUR $

It's only a matter of time before Ferentz re-signs.

NFL News [Old 2020 thread] NFL Free Agency/Trade Rumors:

The Patriots are looking for minimum salary free agents who will be pieces of crap. No wonder Brady left for greener pastures. I'm afraid they will pass again on drafting a tight end since the overall class is weak. Look for them to draft a cornerback early on.

NFL News [Old 2020 thread] NFL Free Agency/Trade Rumors:

Not to mention they need wide receivers and tight ends that can get open once in a while. Minimum salary players are not the answer nor are draft picks that rarely play much the first year. We haven't see any trades for players still on their rookie contract.

The Patriots don't have enough money to sign a waterboy.

What Happens to the Fan Base??

I suspect that more fans will give up their season tickets this year than prior years. Maybe a hundred or so but not thousands. The people who will stop watching the team are the casual fans. Fans like my wife's friend Nancy and her married children. They started watching most games when I...

NFL News [Old 2020 thread] NFL Free Agency/Trade Rumors:

You are 100% correct. So far, they have not added any. Tampa Bay is having discussions with Emmanuel Sanders.

    Jules wants out?

The only coach desperate enough to overpay like this would be BB.

    Jameis Winston

Winston would be an exciting choice. We could place bets when he would be intercepted or fumble.

NFL News [Old 2020 thread] NFL Free Agency/Trade Rumors:

I disagree with your statement. Even the best quarterback of all time was ineffective with lousy receivers and tight ends.

NFL News [Old 2020 thread] NFL Free Agency/Trade Rumors:

This is why Tom Brady is in Tampa Bay instead of Foxboro. Tom got frustrated last year with the inability of his receivers to get open, running the wrong routes, and dropping his passes. Their first few signings this year do not not include a decent tight end or wide receiver. Exit Tom Brady.

    Pats win total next year

At last, someone with a little common sense who's not been drinking coffee brandy. This roster has been stripped bare by free agency. The re-signings of Thuney and McCourty plus Brady's cap hit have consumed most of the salary cap money. Good players will not be flocking to Foxboro at bargain...

Perspective for the Older Fans from a Younger Fan

I went to the first Boston Patriot's game on 9/9/1960 at the age of 28. I had to park in Kenmore Square and walk briskly to Boston University Field. On bowling Friday's, I drove my uncle nutty listing to the Patriot's game instead of concentrating on the bowling. I had my first set of season...

    Patriots Player Departure Brady gone

BB played Brady for a sucker the last couple of years. In 2018, he gave Brady a contract loaded with incentives that were impossible to meet. In 2019, BB raised Brady's contract from 15 mil to 23 mil. Last year was a comedy of errors with a mishmash of wide receivers and tight ends and an...

    Thuney gets tagged

I read recently that Cajuste was fit and ready to play.

NFLPA committee voted for new CBA.

Fact is that the deal is good for the non superstars on the roster. They get an immediate raise for the 2020 season. The deal is not good for players like Aaron Rogers. They don't like the extra game and want to sit on their ass until late July like Brady.

NFLPA committee voted for new CBA.

This assumes that the Patriots are willing to negotiate a fair deal with Brady that is at least two years in length. I think BB's idea of a fair deal is Brady's current salary minus his salary cap hit ($23 mil minus $6.75 mil). They might include some near impossible incentives like being...
