Do we need to hire an interim DC?

I don’t know, choosing the biggest **** post here is like picking a favorite Beatles song, there’s a hundred viable options, each a unique flavor. Our minds are sharp, our tongues sharper, our filters…nonexistent. Back to the point, I have not seen any evidence that the defense is any better...

The McDaniels Effect... Passing Numbers up across the board

Not to mention, last year Maye started against stretches of poor teams, and lost… in some cases, badly. Looking good against a bad team is a huge step, sad as it sounds. We hadn’t looked good against a bad team since 2022. Even the Pittsburgh game, if you cut the turnovers in half, would have...

    How Bad Are We?

This is still likely a 7 - 9 win team. I wouldn't call playoffs likely, but it's not hopeless either. This is a soft, soft schedule, especially now with Burrow out. I am less concerned with making the playoffs, and more concerned with looking competitive against the playoff level competition.

Tyquan Thornton thanks us for all the hate and doubt

Will you two hug it out already?

Tyquan Thornton thanks us for all the hate and doubt

A top 10 all timer is making Thornton look good. Fine. Mahomes made Smith Shuster look good too. How'd that work out? None of this means that Thornton is good. He is just fast AND catches passes from the best of his generation. He'd still suck here.

    2026 Draft: LT

I am all about looking for more tackles. Campbell looks good, but in the off chance you can land an elite tackle, go for it. Move Campbell inside, move the hypothetical draft pick to the right, whatever. Let's make the team better.

Sign the beast? Houston releases safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson

No chance. He is a ****ty teammate. An established winner tries to rehabilitate a guy like this. A rebuilding team avoids like the plague.

    The blueberry look is back

I dislike all the color rush uniform concepts. But the 90's unis were still the worst. I don't know where the nostalgia for those came from.

    2026 HOF nominees

He led the league in receiving yards in 2010, and was thoroughly average the rest of his career. That black ink on the stat sheet really matters, I guess.

    2026 HOF nominees

Lloyd was only the 3rd best WR on the 2012 roster. I understand Edelman getting snubbed in favor of a lot on guys on the WR list based on production, but Brandon Lloyd? C’mon.

Should Henderson Be Our #1 Back?

Rookie 3rd down backs rarely see playing time here because of this. Shane Vareen collected dust for most of two years. Blitz pickup in the pros takes time, especially for a smaller RB like Henderson. Rushing him into too big a role and letting Drake get pummeled is counterproductive to...

Past protection composite for Offensive Lines...

Pass blocking is no doubt better. Run blocking on the other hand…

    Ellis, Austin, Stevenson, Douglas

Both Elliss and Spillane rated highly last year in the analytics stats after playing clean up roles in bad defenses. I thing PFF had Elliss as their 7th ranked LB, which seemed daft at the time. I wonder if the analytics models are flawed in a way that overvalues high LB production in bad defenses.

    Ellis, Austin, Stevenson, Douglas

As much as I want to see Chism, I’m ok with the team holding him out if he’s not ready. I’d look over in Diggs’ direction. By all accounts he is playing good football, but he’s not getting many targets playing the Z. Is he getting open? Maybe the move for now is to put Diggs in the slot and...

OT: revisiting the Branch trade in 06

Branch for a 1st and 4th was highway robbery. He was a high end WR2 at best who was propped up by Brady and the deep WR corps surrounding him. The use of the picks was the real mismanagement. Mayo was a perfectly cromulent player, but those picks could have been packaged to move up for Revis...

    How Good Is Our Secondary?

God were catty today. Of course the 2011 Patriots weren’t a one man team, but that defense was historically bad. Put a replacement level player at QB, they go 6-10.

    OT: Brady booth-gate

I can’t express how little I care about this.

Out-of-towner listening to Felger and Mazz for first time in 9 months

Fegler is from Milwaukee and is traumatized from growing up watching his Bucks get swept by Larry Bird’s Celtics in the first round of the playoffs every single year as a boy. He came to Boston hating Boston. The Belichick hate on Folgers and Mazz is petty and reflects a sense of entitlement...

Injury Creates Starting Opportunity For Former Patriots Quarterback (Mac Jones)

This argument over Mac is amusing. He is a perfectly good backup, which makes him a terrible starter. Both can be true at once.

Why haven't Drake's fundamentals been fixed?

Ton Brady? Why didn’t we draft that guy instead of Maye? Seriously, my only hope is that the fan base and media have the patience to allow Maye to develop. He has less than 3/4 of a season of starting experience. Nothing we saw last week should be surprising. We knew Maye had mechanics issues...
