Key Players [Mac Jones/others] Isn't/Aren't Ready to Play

Well, there are observable things he is better than Mac Jones at. I'll list some off: - the arm isn't great, but it's marginally better than Mac's, especially because he both throws from a solid base more often and is better at generating velocity off platform when he doesn't have a base...

Feelings on Bill O'Brien so far?

Really hard to run the ball when the box is loaded and teams are playing down on you all game knowing they can stop both the run and the pass like that. But yeah, they don't really do anything to get the running game going either. Honestly at this point they should either turn Paharoh Brown into...

Feelings on Bill O'Brien so far?

People don't understand that it's impossible to get production this bad on offense unless you're bad at everything. If the QB were good they'd be better, if the weapons were good they'd be better, if the OL were good they'd be better. It takes ineptitude at every level to perform like this.

Feelings on Bill O'Brien so far?

Rhamondre is playing poorly. He's performing significantly worse than Zeke behind the same OL. He's at the bottom of the league in rushing yards over expectations. Prime example of how you can judge performance even in non-ideal context. Of course the bad OL and the fact that boxes are loaded up...

Dynasty Era Culture & Media schtick the one area I think Belichick firing would win.

They should get elite receivers and a better OL regardless of who's QB. That's a baseline area of improvement. I just wonder why you'd choose to give it to Mac Jones. I don't know what else we need to see. The limitations are obvious. He's not "owed" anything. Would he look better with those...

I agree. Which is a big part of the reason as to why I don't think Mac Jones should be a part of the team's future.

PostGame Thread 2023 Week 4: Patriots Lose to the Cowboys 38-3 - PostGame Thread

Yup. Squat on every route, play down on receivers, focus on the middle of the field and dare Mac/that WR corps to beat you over the top or towards the sidelines. They are the worst passing offense in football against man coverage, they'll see a lot of it. They'll have to earn lighter boxes to...

Once again, the standard isn't "excelling". Can he be the 16th-20th best QB in football consistently? Because with this defense that would win a lot of games. And he hasn't played up to that level since the Tennessee game his rookie year.
  9. RodThePat

If you were Kraft and this season doesn’t improve, do you move on from Bill after this season?

Come on, we all know fans fill seats and buy expensive tickets no matter the product on the field! Everyone will show up and pay high ticket prices to see the lighthouse. Why would owners ever even spend any money in the first place? Not like franchise valuation is completely dependent on fan...

Cap vs cash: Are the Patriots cheap?

They lead the league in 2024 cap space AND 2025 cap space. All the "spending to the cap" stuff is ridiculous, the Ravens have the exact same amount of money commited to the cap in 2023 as the Patriots, but they spent 90 million more than New England in cash to put that roster together, for...

Feelings on Bill O'Brien so far?

To some people here football is a team sport in which only one position/player can't have his play evaluated until the perfect conditions are placed around him. Everyone else is fair game, except for that one very special boy. It's less of a team than a collection of people that exist solely to...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

You're also free to watch and realize he had 3 yards of separation and there's ZERO reason for that ball to be placed that high and deep towards the back of the endzone. Even if Gesicki wasn't impeded at all the throw would have made the catch harder than it needed to be. He won on the route...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

"Other Pats reporters say the same thing" lol. That's the lamest appeal to authority I've ever seen in my life. Mac Jones is the only quarterback in football that isn't liable for anything he does. Receivers should make spectacular one handed catches when they're open in the endzone instead of...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

It hit him in the fingers of his sole outstretched hand. Do you even watch the games? He was wide open.
  15. RodThePat

    Mac and the "It Factor"

The thing with the "Mac is pressing because he feels like he has to do too much" line of thinking is that he's been the reason the team falls into holes in the first place. I mean, yesterday he missed an open Gesicki in the endzone, got zero push on a QB sneak in which he had room to get the...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

You seem to think athletes are always what they are week to week and have no variance in performance levels and any oscillation is due to environment around them. That's simply not how it works. Running backs have bad stretches all the time, running backs become pedestrian overnight all the...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

Stevenson has been terrible to start the season and I can attest that with my own two eyes even with all their run blocking issues, yes. He's one of the lowest ranked running backs in football in terms of rushing yards over expectations, and that's the stat I relied on last year to affirm my...

Feelings on Bill O'Brien so far?

Straight up false. Not much to add, this is simply not in the realm of reality.

Dynasty Era Culture & Media schtick the one area I think Belichick firing would win.

Do you think he'd be getting praise for his Week 1-3 performance if people were expecting him to be Brady? All of those games were obviously below Brady standard. And people were still encouraged, posting his "on pace" stats and all that jazz. This is so disingenuous.
  20. RodThePat

Dynasty Era Culture & Media schtick the one area I think Belichick firing would win.

Imagine watching this **** show and being all "sorry he's not Brady". Yeah, there are no gradations of performance between Mac Jones and Tom Brady, he's just an amazing player who falls short of being Brady. Christ almighty. Can he be Ryan Tannehill? Can he be Alex Smith?? Those are the...
