NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

It has nothing to do with genetic differences and everything to do with cultural priorities. I do not believe one race is superior to another. I also find it strange that you felt the need to include white people in your response despite me never mentioning white people. Why did you feel...

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Why does a country like Japan become what it is technologically/economically despite a lack of natural resources while there are resource rich countries in places like Africa that are some of the poorest on the planet? Then, weirdly enough, Japanese Americans earn more than the median income...

    Draft thoughts ...

Shoot...I was kind of hoping they'd forget to sign this guy. We could use the free cap space to sign somebody who hadn't spent 6 years at a high level high school program.

Just acknowledging its permanent place in the human condition while also stating the obvious...that the socioeconomic problems people face (in this country) are the result of individual choices far more often than they are the result of bigotry.

Compare their income levels to the median incomes of other groups? How did that happen, and why does it happen? What skills, beliefs, behaviors do Asian-Americans value that less successful groups don't? How about our Jewish population?

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Everybody on earth is being discriminated against routinely. That doesn't mean anything. Why do some minority groups significantly outperform the majority, while others blame the majority for their plight?

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Every person alive faces persecution at the hands of others, whether it's the non-English speaking immigrant, the gunned down black kid, the old white man victimized in a "knock-out" game, the ugly kid for being ugly, the fat guy for being fat, the smart kid for being smart, the dumb kid for...

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Which minorities are you referring to when you speak of the imbalances? I ask because there are some "minorities" in this country who kicks the ***e$ of the "majority" as it pertains to things like income, wealth, education, etc. Those minority groups who are not seeing the successes of...

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Not a sucker. If you truly help, good for you, but it sounds like you're wanting society (the collective you) to be forced to fix disparities simply because disparities exist. It seems self-evident to me that before that is done, an honest discussion should take place on the current...

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

If the "system" keeps them down, what is the "system" you want to use to rectify the imbalance? Also, which group is the "system" holding down?

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Does that include the entities at the short end of the proverbial stick? Do these victimized parties hold any responsibility at all for their plight, or is it simply up to the "collective you" to fix disparities that may, or may not, be the result of unjust societal forces?

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

Don't ever quote the Nunch...it hurts your argument. I must have missed the facts the Nunch referenced. A lot of "theys" and "thems" (which some may find insulting), but not a huge number of "facts".

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

What if we go with 20% black players, 20% white, 20% east Asian, 20% Polynesian and 20% Latino? Screw meritocracy. The league coaching pool then has to reflect those percentages exactly, and we also have to have a few women and LBGQTQZRABCDEI candidates thrown in as well. Will that be less...

NFL to propose to improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as HC or GM

There will always be imbalances in our society. Has any society ever existed without imbalances? Disparities existing is not evidence of some type of unjust discriminatory behavior.

In other words you have no answer, because the truth is neither side of the political spectrum cares about your definition of democracy. Both sides are driven by self-interest, not democratic ideals.
