PATRIOTS NEWS Schefter: Pats will be featured on *2027* Hard Knocks

IDK, Vrabel has star power though. He could be as entertaining on Hard Knocks as Rex Ryan was without some of the buffoonery.

PATRIOTS NEWS Schefter: Pats will be featured on *2027* Hard Knocks

Hard Knocks isn't as intrusive as they used to be. And I am not not sure they are anymore intrusive than the Patriots' own video staff these days. If this was 10 years ago, I would be more upset. Now it is really more minor of an inconvenience to the team.

Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

You aren't going to hear anything about a Brown trade until at least the draft at this point. I don't care what Roseman or Wolf says at this point. It means nothing to whether Brown is traded or not.

NFL could try to cap individual player contracts

A max cap for contracts would definitely hurt a player like Drake Maye. It would lower the incentive for the Patriots to sign him to a long term deal before his fifth year option. Sure it would be cheaper next year when he is eligible for a long term deal. But if the league puts a cap on max...

NFL could try to cap individual player contracts

No it doesn't. It probably means James Cook is getting more. If there is just one max contract that only affects QBs, odds are the money saved will go to the top free agents to get them or retain them. So it will just raise the salaries of the top Players might be happy to see the franchise...

NFL could try to cap individual player contracts

BTW, I said in my first post, we are a long way from any potential work stoppage. All this provision would do is increase the likelihood of it. Until we even see with what is in the CBA, we can assume it is going from zero percent chance to 1% chance for all we know. I don't expect to see a...

NFL could try to cap individual player contracts

Florio says they are going to use the same formula system as the NBA, but he doesn't say there will be one formula for all players or different formulas for each position. Since they have different franchise tags per position, it seems logical that they will do the latter if they implement max...

NFL could try to cap individual player contracts

Maybe. We have no idea what the league has in mind for this. It could affect far more than 12 guys. Usually the guys getting the top contracts these days are not always the top players at their positions. Guys like Trevor Lawrence got record setting deals even though he was and still is far...

NFL could try to cap individual player contracts

I see this as increasing the likelihood of a work stoppage. A lot of superstar players don't really care if rookies get good contracts or players get good pensions or health insurance after they retire. But tell a young superstar who will likely get a new contract in the CBA that they may lose...

My own personal Pats free agent signings grades

You do realize that Buffalo faces most of those teams and they also had an easy schedule last year? And who says any of the teams you listed will be any good. The Chiefs last year weren't even that good before Mahomes blew out his ACL. And the Pats could face them early in the season when...

My own personal Pats free agent signings grades

I am not going to grade the signings at this point. It is impossible to tell the impact of players. At this point last year, people might have given the Chaisson signing a C and the Tonga signing a D. Neither of those signings were considered great signings last year. Both those guys were...

Patriots Rumor This is why Brady hates the Patriots and Kraft

I said billionaires with good business sense. There are billionaires who are idiots like Mark Davis. And giving away money for charity is not the same thing if that is what you are talking about. They only way a good business person makes a deal that is financially bad for them like selling...

Today In Patriots History March 25, 1998: Pats refuse to match Jets offer for Curtis Martin

Kraft was really stupid not to give a HOF caliber RB a contract before he hit free agency during a time when RB were really important, but what Parcells did was sleazy. The league should have never allowed the poison pill to go through. It set a bad precedent that they had to correct later...

Player Signing Patriots Sign OT James Hudson III

People are judging this guy on four plays in one game. Yes, they were awful plays, but I want to see more of his film before I judge him. And most of the problems in these plays can be fixed with good coaching. Remember Lowe having a ton of false starts in 2024? I don’t remember any when he...

Patriots Rumor This is why Brady hates the Patriots and Kraft

Kraft announced the deal to sell part of the team on September 25th. Brady officially became minority owner of the Raiders three weeks later after trying to get approval for 17 months from the league. So I don’t think Kraft even started to find a buyer until long after Brady agreed to buy part...

Patriots Rumor This is why Brady hates the Patriots and Kraft

Well, Kraft didn't have any other investors at the point Brady bought the Raiders. Not sure about the other owners. Kraft has a lot of sway with them.
  17. Rob0729

Can we now start to think the whole “Kraft is cheap” was more of a Belichick philosophy?

I thought the Elon Musk philosophy was to get the government to subsidize your companies. And I am not being political. being factual. Would say the same thing no matter Elon's politics.

Patriots Rumor This is why Brady hates the Patriots and Kraft

Actually, RK would have had to sell it to Brady 30 cents on the dollar to equal the Raiders' deal. Mark Davis is a moron. Kraft is a shrewd businessman. No matter how much he loves Brady, you cannot leave nine figures on the table.

Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

The question is how much of Brown's drop off was because of his situation? If you look at Moss with the Raiders, there were a lot questions about his skills at that point. Randy Moss with the Raiders was a mediocre receiver his last year there. Not for Randy Moss. For the entire league. He...

Patriots Rumor This is why Brady hates the Patriots and Kraft

Brady and his partner, Tom Wagner, bought 10% of the Raiders for $240 million. Brady got half of that. So he probably paid about $120 million for his share. Kraft sold 8% for about $750 million. That means 5% of the Pats would have cost Brady, $468,750,000. If Brady came up $469 million...
