PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP Training Camp Day 2 - July 24

We should all wait until after the first week in pads. The coaches are not going to be making decisions until after they see how the younger players move the pile and open gaps.

A Different View On Our Three starting WR's (presuming health)

Hollins was on the field for 67% of the Bills' offensive snaps, even though he was sixth on the team in receptions in a high-powered Bills offense. It was his complementary skills that kept him on the field. I think Polk can end up replacing him with his better long-term upside. Polk looked...

A Different View On Our Three starting WR's (presuming health)

I picked that stat on purpose. Hollins was on the field because of run blocking, picks, decoy routes, endzone plays, quarterback draws, and screens. Diggs, Williams, Dougles, Henry, and Henderson are going to get a lot of touches. The third receiver needs to have some strong complementary...

A Different View On Our Three starting WR's (presuming health)

Player Comparison from Grok: In the 2024 NFL season, Mack Hollins played all 17 games for the Buffalo Bills, averaging a snap count percentage of approximately 66.65% per game when active. Kendrick Bourne, with the New England Patriots, played in 12 games, averaging about 58.33% per game when...

A Different View On Our Three starting WR's (presuming health)

We need recievers who can run block, set picks, find holes in a soft zone, and win in tight contested spaces. These players open up the field for your star players. I have a feeling we will see more Polk and Hollins and less Hooper this year.

Alex Barth's post-OTAs "way too early" roster projection

With rookie S Craig Woodson spending time in the slot, I can see only five, and not six, pure CBs being kept. I think either Dial or Bolden also needs to show some safety and special-teams skills to make the roster.

Keion White on Mayo & Co.: "I was training myself..."

A player who wants to be coached? This is not a problem.

    PATRIOTS NEWS OTA's

But so is every post here, but we read and enjoy anyway.

    PATRIOTS NEWS OTA's

Henry 30 Hooper 31 Diggs 32 Hollins 32 Bourne 30 A new coaching staff is only going to keep an older player if they are just plain better than everyone else. So far, I only have Henry and Diggs on that list. Final cutdowns are going to be brutal, and two on this list are gone.

During OTAs, Stefon Diggs workin' it hard

Diggs has always been a stop gap, not a building block. If we get two good years out of him, I would consider it hitting the jackpot.

    Forged in Foxboro: episode 1

He seems to get what the coaches ask for...this reminds me of Pioli and Belicheck.

    Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

Thank God we have Brad Stevens. He knows talent and how to put a team together. Most of the trades will come out of nowhere, but I know this team will be ready to compete in 2027 and beyond. The trading of veterans and getting below the apron are given, but in this league of personalities how...

    Jaheim Bell

I remember Bell lining up wrong on more than one occasion. If you doesn't make the team, it will most likely be about reliablity.

    What’s Left To Do?

I don't know if there are any short term vets out there that wouldn't hurt the long term development of our younger players.

    George Pickens traded

One reason to be happy that we got McDanials. We don't want our quarterback to play heroball all day, only when it counts.

Are there veterans who don't fit in as part of the future?

If you're a veteran, you better outplay the rookies. It's a new regime, the tie always goes to the rookie. Lowe, Sow, Epps, Bourne, Jennings, Bradbury, and Hollins all should be playing like they belong here. They don't get training wheels.

2 quick questions for the panel

Strange looked quick when returning from injury and playing center last year. However, he often got bull rushed because he couldn't anchor his position previously at guard. It's a roll of the dice that he earns a spot this year.
