Whats the NFL do if Brady gets intercepted in the Playoffs

Just a stupid curious question, but if a def team picks off a ball and takes it to the sideline, and claim it, can't they do anything they want to it since it is out of play. Maybe they wanted it for a memento, or whatever reason, and hence its out of circulation and no longer in that game. It's...

AKWARD! :) I know who won the election too in case anyone wants to know...

Patriots have the #1 defense (PPG) in the NFL

These last few weeks remind me of 2001-2004 teams. Every player knows what the D is trying to accomplish, and they are in the right position now that they understand the D concepts. They are playing fast, and they know their assignments. Many new faces are here, but smart players, so it just...

    Hamilton wavied accoring to Reiss

Wasn't he active last game? Not a fan of the move. Hopes he makes PS. Maybe he's dinged up. That would make more sense.

Game over for rest of the league: Brissett is back

I'm now convinced JG is the real deal after re-watching these clips. Some observations: 1. Quick (like elite level quick) progression through his reads. At least half his plays, he went to the 2nd or even 3rd read. It's so smooth, almost unnoticeable. Faster even then Brady. Although Brady...

Nfl is planning new spring league

4 teams across the USA? Teams East, West, North and South? Edit not sure of the hate. If it is non league affiliated, then some very rich and powerful people are sensing some weakness in the NFL product. For us NFL* haters, this can only be a good thing. This, if even marginally successful, can...

    Emmanuel Sanders crying on twitter

At the time of the playoffs they were the better team - at the time. And even if they weren't, it was close enough, that on top of the aforementioned injuries, throw in the turnovers, playing at home with a bigger than average HFA, a significant discrepancy in critical calls, a point of emphasis...

Game Thoughts: Pats earn a Rocky Mountain Bye Week Edition

I've posted this before, but I think the light air @Den really affects his deep ball more than the cold. TB consistently overthrows receivers on deep balls (where the altitude would have the most pronounced effect), and maybe the ultra low humidity hurts his grip/accuracy other times. But even...

McCaffrey joins Fournette, neither are playing in their school's Bowl games

A smarter way to accomplish the same objective and avoid the negative scrutiny, just pull up early in the week one practice with a "minor hamstring injury", where although you gave it your best shot, "regretfully" you won't be able to play at 100%, so you made the "hard but smart decision" to...

Refs need to modify their spot "cheating" inside the 20s

Well then I agree with previous poster, if its just a convenience, it shouldn't be applied under the 5yd lines on the D side, as that would affect chances of a safety. Or the past the opponents 20, as it would affect chances of a touchdown. Those are big chunks of free yards relative to ball...

Refs need to modify their spot "cheating" inside the 20s

What happens when a team converts a first down at the half yard line? By the rules quoted above, ball would be moved to the zero, which "touches the plane" of the goal, and should be a touch down. That can't be right.

Post Game Thread- Pats @ Jets

I don't know, do you think someone that dons plastic bags as protective glove-sleeves to keep a fresh manicure looking pretty and not to be ruined by some icky muddy rainy walk-thru practice might just fit that bill?

My bold prediction: Steelers over Colts on Thurday

Now that's what we call a serious #2 QB depth issue!

    Shea McClellin

Agreed. But I think BB must have thought he could be a valuable asset (worth the contact) if used effectively to his strengths, but just hadn't happened so far. I think this was a rare whiff by BB. Does anyone recall what position/role he was initially tried out for early in TC? That might give...

    Shea McClellin

Just for comparison sake, PFF has HT and had JC as 80 rated LBs. Top 10 players. Roberts as a 75 guy, but young and potential to improve. Sadly, Mcclellin (this year at least) is a JAG worthy PFF 50. So yes he stinks. At least compared to what we expect here in NE. So whatever role BB though he...

    What's up with the PAT's ?

I don't think anything is wrong. We just saw the 92% success rate, land on tails (the other 8%) more than usual today. Whats to complain about? They only talked about the missed, but what was the overall conversion percent? 75% 80%? 85%? In small sample size. Nothing to get worked up about...

    Malcolm Mitchell

Mitchell is basically Hogan's backup, and he performed well today. If he keeps it up, BB's meritocracy will by definition give him the chance to earn more game reps. For now, I like NE's WR's depth chart as it is.

    Brees: League* BS tanks ratings

It's simple. Goodell is the reason. All decisions flow through him. He is Peter Principle in action.

Excited for more LB E. Roberts? Thoughts on his development here.

Last week I was psyched we had this kid from nowhere for amazing LB depth. Well... what a difference a week makes, is all i can say i guess. Here's cumulative PFF week 7 grades for NE linebackers. Collins overall a 90. But Roberts -a 8g rookie- a very respectable 82! I'd bet Collins was not...
