It’s great to hear Swinson improved his attitude and worked his butt off on the ps last year, but I hope he has a hard battle on his hands to move up the depth chart. Not because of anything against him, just the scenario I’m hoping will play out would make that be the case.

I want to see Jacas come in and hit the ground running to make everybody forget about the contract issues. If he plays to his potential and Landry gets healthy and returns to form, along with Ponder’s development they’ll all push Jones and Swinson to establish their places in the pecking order.

Steel sharpens steel. It’s possible edge will be a strength not a weakness by opening game.

Marcus Bryant has taken a huge leap if he is able to simultaneously start at LT and RT. Impressive.

My take aways

#1 Everyone who matters got out healthy (sorry Webb... I wish you well, but you are not really a big part of the plan moving forward... I hope you are good though!)
#2 Swinson is in a make or break year... He may be a lot pick, but he talent is far above that. Hopefully he just needed a year to mature. He did something today. That is all i wanted to see. A sign of life.
#3 Eli Raridon already making himself known a bit. I would expect we will see him more with the first team before long.
#4 Mike Brown being safety 3 over Pettus would surprise me. But i would welcome it if he can do better. That would just be more depth.
#5 speaking of safety. No news on Byard or Woodson.. I guess that is a good thing.
#6 Gonzo is close to a deal. I expect we will hear something soon. An owner wouldn't talk like that unless the papers were being drawn as they speak and the details hammered out.
#7 Gabe Jacas being signed to me means he is close to healthy. Or they wouldn't sign him. I assume we will see him soon.
#8 Anyone else excited for Ponder? I think he is going to be a total steal. Dude should have been drafted. We were right to extend for him as an UDFA... he is going to make noise this year i think.
#9 We have good depth at OT.. and Lomu sounds like he is OT3 already. Is he perhaps ahead of schedule? If he is OT3 that says more about him than the guys he beat to get the spot.
#10 In the end it all comes down to Drake 'Drake Maye' Maye... if you remember he had a rocky training camp and preseason last year. So it is encouraging he is off the a better start this year. This year is all about consistency. And Wilson you get 1 free busted snap on day 1. I don't want to see it again for a long time!

No worries. I do this every year, and I'll be doing it each day as long as the practices aren't too late in the day when I can't be here due to work (I work nights). But there will be a new thread each day throughout camp, and I'll definitely hustle and include as much as I can.
