Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

I like the pick. Anytime you can get a big at #28 who can block shots and rebound is goodness.

The fact that hes only 19 is great. He'll need a couple of years to develop. Might be a Maine Claw for a bit.

Celts do a good job of developing players. We'll see.

Trading athleticism and upside versus raw and in need of time. The Pats are trying to do the same thing. Athleticism first and patience second.

Yeah, clearly they liked him enough to use pick a developmental kid there, though I would think they'd give him a taste of the NBA at the very least... I'm somewhat surprised Henri Veesaar slid as far as he did

I was predicting a best player available pick (which Cenac may well be eventually) with someone more game ready, and then maybe be lucky enough to grab Veesaar at #40
But once they had Cenac there was no reason for Veesaar - I do like a defensive minded pick with Mitchell at #40

They sure didn't draft for need though - even though he can probably play C especially after adding some weight

Unfortunately I think the fact they passed on more game ready centers tells me that indeed, Brown may want out of town given that he's put his Boston condo on the market too

Sounds more likely that a trade is coming - given the number of picks and players Giannis got in trade, if JB is already miffed Stevens may find a way to turn that into the C we need, other players and add some draft picks to build around whatever core he assembles when they can really spend again

Yes - but seems like they value character most of all and attribute their success to that

What "gems"?

The Brad could've received all the Right headlines this time if he had taken Veesaar; instead, he takes somebody who, while his defensive game & athleticism appear NBA-ready, has not improved his offense whatsoever; and his FT% is a ****ing Disgrace. Perhaps if he had spent less time transferring and more time working on his craft...

The Brad should've doubled-up on Bigs this year, to help make-up for the previous couple of years when he chose Garbage...
There's always room for one more good Big... ALWAYS.

Good point. I stand corrected.
No you're not wrong - it's just character is the ultimate deciding factor

The Patriots are doing the same thing - Lomu, a 21 year old married guy, is a good case in point

Frankly I think the Mormon religion is weird but they also some of the genuinely nicest people I've known

I also believe JB is not long for Boston. Just seems like an eventuality. They need to get bigger and find ways to get easier buckets.

Not sure what to make of the condo listing. He bought it for $6m so he'll be taking a hit listing it for $5m. Drop in the bucket for him...
