The Pats are trying to do the same thing. Athleticism first and patience second.I like the pick. Anytime you can get a big at #28 who can block shots and rebound is goodness.
The fact that hes only 19 is great. He'll need a couple of years to develop. Might be a Maine Claw for a bit.
Celts do a good job of developing players. We'll see.

Good point. I stand corrected.Yes - but seems like they value character most of all and attribute their success to that

No you're not wrong - it's just character is the ultimate deciding factorGood point. I stand corrected.
I also believe JB is not long for Boston. Just seems like an eventuality. They need to get bigger and find ways to get easier buckets.Yeah, clearly they liked him enough to use pick a developmental kid there, though I would think they'd give him a taste of the NBA at the very least... I'm somewhat surprised Henri Veesaar slid as far as he did
I was predicting a best player available pick (which Cenac may well be eventually) with someone more game ready, and then maybe be lucky enough to grab Veesaar at #40
But once they had Cenac there was no reason for Veesaar - I do like a defensive minded pick with Mitchell at #40
They sure didn't draft for need though - even though he can probably play C especially after adding some weight
Unfortunately I think the fact they passed on more game ready centers tells me that indeed, Brown may want out of town given that he's put his Boston condo on the market too
Sounds more likely that a trade is coming - given the number of picks and players Giannis got in trade, if JB is already miffed Stevens may find a way to turn that into the C we need, other players and add some draft picks to build around whatever core he assembles when they can really spend again
Windhorst: Celtics decided they need to deal Brown
