Finally: 5 NFL OT's

And why lists are dumb…

The year before last PFF ranked Garrett Bradbury the worst starting pass blocking center in the NFL, After the Pats signed him, I was here arguing it was largely Kevin O’Connells scheme in Minnesota.

Last season PFF said Bradbury was a top three pass blocking center in the NFL.

PFF is garbage. Lists are dumb.
Anyone can try to look smart by picking apart small details in a massive list.

Overall the list is about right. The Pats OL rookies have to improve and beyond that the OL still has room to improve further. Right now they are projected to be average - let's hope they are on the upswing commonly seen by being younger.

Nah, his list is a popularity contest… like most lists.

There’s zero accountability for lists. A year from now he’ll be calling Jared Wilson the best young center in the league… like lists that told us Drake Maye wasn’t very good after 2024.

The biggest question mark in clearly Wilson.

The other 4 are likely to improve as whole, but Wilson has shown very so far.

As we have done before, I wouldn't be surprised if we carry a #3 center,

You are thinking RT is likely to improve because there will be a talented young guy who can get worked in gradually and be pretty good by the end of the year? I can see that. But it depends on the old man holding up again through the year, which feels 50/50 honestly.

I'm not expecting Onwenu to be better. The weight gain thing gives me pause. And his learning curve is flattening out, just from years of experience.

But C, LG, and LT could all be significantly better, which is a big, big deal. OL should be better, and with health, S will definitely be better, and WR might be. And of course, the QB. That's a lot to create hope.

I'm not sure why you would think this.

Wilson was a top 100 pick, one of the most athletic center prospects ever. As a rookie, he started every game for which he was healthy, missing time due to concussion and ankle, playing a new position.

There is every reason to assume he will continue as a starter, improve when moved back to hos natural position with veterans on either side, and make a 2nd year leap.

Nothing is ever 100% certain, but I would expect his position to be among the most improved on the OL.

.
His weight problem in the NFL is an invention of the media. Onwenu is a 350 pound RG for his entire NFL career, and most of his college career. I believe his combine weight was 344.

Simply put, Onwenu is biiiig man.

As has been the case for decades, I am at the other side of this debate. I do NOT think that being a top 100 player translates to long solid starter even 50% of the time, certainly not enough to plug in and be counted on to succeed.

Perhaps we don't need to believe that we have a future issue at TE. After all, we drafted a TE in the top 100. Of course, the difference at TE is that there is top veteran starter who can be Raridon's mentor.

This makes no sense whatsoever.
