I think it's too high a price to pay and have said that repeatedly, but the fact remains that a first round pick 2 years away is and always has been considered the same value as a 2nd round pick next year.
That does happen in other rounds but I am not aware of specific examples in which a team traded a future #1 for a current #2 straight up. However, playing along, if a 2027 #2 is equal to a 2028 #1 then trade the 2027 #2. Trading a future, unconditional #1 for an aging player is simply unacceptable and horrible management. Hopefully the Krafts will say no to this. Who gives a crap if Vrabel wants his guy back. He's in no position to demand that overpay at this time.
