Says the guy who just told me a player who led the entire team in offensive snaps for two years in a row was fat and out of shape. Laughable.Has nothing to do with your ignorance about basic football concepts you just do not have.

Stick to basket weaving, or pokémon.
I definitely confused you with another poster, it doesn’t excuse you for saying something stupid though. Are you drunk or high yet again? I am not a guy and I never said any such thing. Get some help or off the drugs. You are so out of it you have no idea who you are replying to.

Everybody was right, there was a cliff after that top group. OT's were taken at 9, 10, 12, 17. 19, and 21, including Miller and Max who some thought might slide. Lomu was the only one of the top group remaining at 22, universally mocked in the 1st round, so no wonder Wolf was surprised he was there at 28 - great move up from 31 for a 4th. We're picking in the high 20's or 30's from now on, so needed to jump on an opportunity like this at a position of high need.Interestingly we were all talking about how there were only so many 1st round worthy OTs in the draft
Furthermore most of us desired a switch OT who could backup (or compete) with Campbell but primarily be groomed to be the RT next season if we wanted to be greedy.
So how did the draft shake out?
Well the expected run happened and we had to trade up when it was down to one remaining first round worthy OT
What happened after?
Not a single OT drafted in the entire 2nd round, with the next one going in the 3rd at 68 - a full 40 picks after Lomu
The Jets got a steal more than we overpaid. A low 4th dealing with a division rival wasn't horrible, we made out according to the trade value charts. Plus the Jets-SF deal was 3 picks lower. Plus this was a pick we really needed.Sorry not sorry to break this, but...
Caleb Lomu isn't here to the be starting Right Tackle for the 2027 NEP. I think you can guess where I'm going with the rest...
Otherwise, why not just keep 125 and draft DEs TJ Parker or Zion Young instead?
Also, Eliot overpaid for the privilege. Take a peek at what the Jete paid to move their three spots...
He's 21, hasn't even finished puberty yet... a year in this strength and conditioning program and he'll be the high first round prospect he would have been had he stayed in school. He might have been a top five pick next offseason.According to Dane Brugler, several teams were attempting to trade up for Caleb Lomu in the late 1st round.

Interesting.
We did fine on the draft trade value chart - gave up 47 points worth for the 125 pick and moved up 60 points worth to get to 28 - they could have asked for an extra 6th rounder to make it evenEverybody was right, there was a cliff after that top group.
