If those are our choices in round 2 I'm in favor of Gabe Jacas, after that DDS, then KC.

Other notable EDGE players left:
Romello Height, TJ Parker, Mason Thomas, Zion Young, Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, Trey Moore.

It feels like a move up to the 50's for the Patriots to grab one of the top remaining EDGE players is in the cards.

But that is about ten legit EDGE prospects the Patriots could choose from in round 2.

I’m a big fan of DDS. If not him, Rodriguez, one of the OGs, Stukes, sounds fine. Taking a swing on McCoy or Bell, if they reach us, is also a good risk at that point.

DDS or Crawford seem possible.

I don't see us moving up. Our 3rd would likely to get us to 50, our 4th to 58.

If we trade around, I see it being done in the mid to late 3rd.

Good thing about the run on OL in the first, there's a lot of Edges left, some guys that were potentially 1st rd picks.
Really like Rodriguez, Hill and Golday as well. Could also throw Allen in there.
I would expect we should have options at one of those 2 spots and that is definitely my preference, Edge being my first choice.

Id say defense or maybe better value, TE.

I don't think the lbs will be available at 63 (Rodriguez Hill allen) so maybe an edge like jacas. But he might be gone too.

Stribling or hurst if I didn't think AJ was coming here

Guard or another tackle. I am not joking about the tackle with a recovering LT and a 35 year old RT. Even adding the first rounder, we still need to develop a swing tackle/guard. And he needs to be quality.

I still don't understand how Boston didn't go on round 1. A WR that size with those skills. Maybe I'm just plain wrong.

At this point I see little value at edge. Howell will get over drafted when he is really just a specialist. And I just don't like anyone else much this year. Unfortunately both edge and OT had massive fall offs. WR can be in play. I'm curious if Boutte will be moved tomorrow. Though I'd rather keep him for anything less than a second and just let him walk and get a comp pick later rather than trade him for a 3rd.

The exception is if Parker somehow slips the to 50 or so. The. I pull the trigger on him. But Parker isn't making it to trade up range.

Now... If we could trade Boutte for Parker I do it. I like Boutte but we already have our long term wr contract for a #2. Doing another deal like that be a bad idea.

Releasing Diggs is the first step towards improving their offense. He averaged 53.5 YPG including the playoffs and was struggling to get open. He wasn't double teamed either. His performance vs. the Bills in week 3 helped them win the division & his leadership was needed in Vrabel's first year as HC.

The pats need more explosiveness on offense & should consider blowing up WR & TE. Nwosu on the seahawks said the pats only had Maye on offense and nothing else to worry about. Henry struggles to get open, can't block & probably runs close to a 4.8 now. I wouldn't be opposed to signing a more well rounded TE and drafting one in a deep draft class.

I won't be surprised if the pats go the 2007 offseason route. Trades (Welker, Moss) & signings (Stallworth) to completely overhaul WR/TE.

I said before the offseason I wouldn’t be surprised if the pats go the 07 route & completely revamp their WR/TE room. So far:

Eventually Trade for AJ Brown for 25M+ AAV
Sign Doubs for $17M AAV
Sign Julian Hill for $5M AAV

This draft is loaded at TE. Henry had 9 receptions for 112 yards in the playoffs. While he’s good at settling in a zone he offers no vertical threat & can’t block. They need to get a TE that can take advantage of Maye’s arm down the field.

I’d let the draft come to them & continue to draft where it’s strongest (OT, TE, EDGE, LB).
