Draft Rumours 2026



Could have a major impact. Imagine if Chicago (25), Buffalo (26) or Houston (28) trades for Lawrence.

McShay has him at #5 right now as well. I think 2 weeks ago he had him at #4.

OT's are drafted higher than their ranking, especially in years when there is such a huge lack of OT value in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Lots of teams want an OT and likely have at least one of the OT's on their 1st round boards.

Of course, Miller seems to be sliding. It is not at all clear what that means.

A month or two there was a debate between McShay and Muench on McShay's pod. Muench isnt a big Miller fan. Thinks he gets beat by speed and power and will struggle in pass pro. I always thought it was interesting that they had completely differing opinions.

Other than Dillon Thieneman of Oregon, few defensive backs have watched their draft stocks rise as quickly as Treydan Stukes of Arizona. Entering the season with Day 3 grades, Stukes is unlikely to get past pick 42 based on the information coming out of final draft meetings.

After a terrific senior season, Stukes timed 4.33 seconds at the combine and hit 38 inches in the vertical jump. Teams like him as a Swiss Army knife in the secondary, a defensive back who is intercha0ngeable at safety, nickel, and even outside cornerback.

Some teams grade Stukes as the third safety on their board after Caleb Downs and Thieneman. Other teams rank him as the top nickel back in the draft, ahead of D’Angelo Ponds.

The earlier Thieneman is drafted, the quicker Stukes will come off the board. Right now, word inside the league is that Thieneman could end up with the Vikings at pick 18 or the Panthers at pick 19.

Depending on what they do with their initial selections, keep an eye on the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets, both with a pair of choices in Round 1 and early selections to open Day 2. The Chiefs brought Stukes in for a visit, and the Jets think highly of him at the safety spot.

Stukes as a Jete or Chief would piss me off.
 
Veach says there'll be a "massive run on OL from 10-25". Then says it dries up by pick 35. Interesting he's referring to OL and not OT specifically. I wonder if he's hinting that Bisontis, Pregnon and Rutledge will be gone by pick 35.

 
Unfortunately, history tells us that OL will go quickly.

2025: 4, 7, 9, 12, 18, 24, 29, 32, 37, 48
2024: 5, 7, 11, 14, 18, 20, 25, 26, 29
2023: 6, 10, 11, 14, 27, 38, 43, 48
2022; 6, 7, 9,15, 17, 19, 24, 25, 29
2021: 7, 13, 14, 17, 23, 37, 39

Teams in 2026 that could potentially draft OL in the 1st round;

3 - Arizona
5 - NY Giants
6, 24 - Cleveland
9, 29 - Kansas City
11, 30 - Miami
13 - LA Rams
14 - Baltimore
17 - Detroit
19 - Carolina
23 - Philadelphia
27 - San Francisco
28 - Houston
31 - NE
32 - Seattle

That's 17/32 1st round picks.
 
Thats what i've been saying all along. If you want to draft Oline, it will have to be in the first but there will be a run at OT so im not sure we will be able to get one.
 
Sounds likely.

My thoughts:

1. If Iheanachor or Miller within distance, consider trading up, possibly with Buffalo at 26
2. Consider Rutledge at 31 if no OT, depending on who else is available
3. Mesidor, McDonald, Stukes/McNeil-Warren, Golday and Rodriguez could be options.
4. Trading back makes sense of no primary target and we can find a partner
 
DJ on the prospects with the most juice.

Lots of teams like Lawrence and he could go bottom of the first.

Stukes top of the 2nd. Great on the interviews.

Stribling. “The interviews and the meetings with teams have gone exceptionally well”. 2nd round.

 
Another contact with a 3-tech. Lots of 3-tech contacts, not many 0/1.
