Looks like a guy who can't do anything for reporters once they are between the white lines....

Right out of the Belichick playbook on media relations.A lot of talk here and all over to the effect that Vrabel "has to talk to the media." I agree: he should tell them to go **** themselves. This is the response the press has earned, pontificating clickbait whores that they are.
The facts also show the two of them sharing an obviously romantic embrace on a rooftop only accessible via private rooms, with no one else around.Ok, let's stick to facts. A man and a women wearing bathing suits in a hot tub in a resort town.
Happens all the time, I would think, even if those people are married to other people.
Vrabel's problem is that he literally does have to speak to the media regularly as a part of his job. They aren't going to meekly back down from discussing the topic while there's still something to discuss.Right out of the Belichick playbook on media relations.
Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. You’d vilify Belichick for doing this.
It is the New York Times, not the Athletic. The NYT owns the Athletic. The NYT makes all of the decisions.Yes but The Athletic already issued a public statement fully supporting her.
I think she did hook up w/ Vrabes but just stating what if she didn't.
What facts do you see in the photos? Russini and Vrabel held hands and hugged? LOL. LOL.I think you have the wrong lynch mob. Photos are facts.
The divorce could also be liberating depending upon the situation. The coach having an affair which eventually dies in the media cycle will not translate in losses.
A coach going through a nasty divorce in which distracts and sucks the life out of him will.
Wins and losses. Those are all what matter.
This is a very strong point. A male reporter hanging out at strip club with a coach would be a non-story, if not status quo stuff. The real problem for her with regard to NYT isn't the infidelity angle, it's the appearance of impropriety angle, IMO.
A reporter is not supposed to be seen as being close friends with the people they cover, never mind lovers.
Yet if this was two men on a golf course instead of a man and a women in bathing suits in a hot tub, the story would play out very differently, IMO.
There’s no presumption of innocence. This isn’t a criminal proceeding. There’s no smoking gun of certainty either. There’s just a lot of smoke. It just comes down to “if I were a betting man” stuff, and I know where the smart money is on this. This too is something we're not likely to know, unless she herself decides to do a tell-all.
Now, just imagine that. One of the few ways women have to level the playing field is to go scorched earth.
Ok, let's stick to facts. A man and a women wearing bathing suits in a hot tub in a resort town.

Friend of mine is in Myrtle Beach right now, quite possibly doing something quite similar.
Any presumption of innocence, or do we jump to the 'facts' people here are going with?
The facts also show the two of them sharing an obviously romantic embrace on a rooftop only accessible via private rooms, with no one else around.
As I've said a few times before: if I saw photographs of my girlfriend in a similar situation, I'd be deeply troubled and would expect a thorough, transparent explanation from her as to what actually occurred.
The problem is if he's been lying about this. That can make this much worse. Because the media will be relentless. I can't remember Vrabel's exact words. If he did lie about it, it's a an embarrassment to the organization and things typically get stirred up from it. And saying this, I know what Kraft got himself into.He should give a press conference, admit what he did, and publicly apologize. People love a good redemption story, but they hate someone who lies, gets caught, then clings to the lie.
Admitting he did it pretty much makes the story go away. There's nothing left to investigate and there's no longer any "got'cha" moment after a man admits his guilt. He can then (accurately) answer all further questions that it is a personal matter between him and his wife and it doesn't impact his role as HC of the NEP.
Yup, Russo's career at the New York Times is over. Who cares? But this resignation speaks for itself. Her career is over.
These photos end with “your clothes are in the suitcases outside.”As I've said a few times before: if I saw photographs of my girlfriend in a similar situation, I'd be deeply troubled and would expect a thorough, transparent explanation from her as to what actually occurred.
The person who just delivered an unsolicited lecture on the shamefulness of "gossip", is now using the word pontificating as a pejorative. Two posts apart, without a trace of self-awareness.
So to recap: discussing a current news story with a range of perspectives = shameful gossip worthy of your moralizing sermons. Calling the media "whores" and telling people to **** themselves = totally fine, actually noble.
The same behavior you were just condemning (performative outrage, contempt for the discussion, broad-brush dismissal of everyone involved), you’re now openly endorsing, just aimed at a different target.
I assume you mean Vrabel is lying. How do you know that? The problem is if he's been lying about this.
Good thing you’re not a lawyer. What facts do you see in the photos? Russini and Vrabel held hands and hugged? LOL. LOL.
Photos are facts. Have people lost their minds?
Yup, Russo's career at the New York Times is over. Who cares?
Bari Weiss was kicked out of the NYT in 2020, and has made over $100M since then. Bari is very happy to have left the NYT.
I don't know for sure if he lied about this. But Russini is probably not getting fired over a hug between friends.I assume you mean Vrabel is lying. How do you know that?
