That’s definitely more specific.

Interesting point made here - their guidelines they are investigating against are whether there “was a conflict of interest of the appearance of a conflict of interest.” Whether there actually was a conflict or not I think it’s hard to argue that there is the appearance of one. So I don’t really know how she would pass such an investigation of that is the bar they are measuring against here.

She is cooked. Someone was out to get either one of them or both. She got the short straw.

Yep someone was following them, got some inside info etc. This didn't just happen and I bet neither she nor Vrabel thought this one out enough.

This should have been a meet up on the low down, have certain people watching out and ensuring that nobody is wise to what is happening.

IF she has been/is sleeping with Vrabel and that's verified by her employer(s), it could kill her career -- at least, in the form she has known it to this point. It's complicated by the fact Russini has media star power so she's got that going for her. But if they're concerned enough to suspend and investigate her it does not bode well.

In my newspaper days I did a rather high stakes investigative report on a woman in Lowell who accused her estranged husband of sexually abusing their two young daughters before kidnapping both of them to his native Greece. I interviewed the woman quite a few times along with others involved -- doctors, a legal guardian, etc. Before the story was published I had to vet everything with the paper's lawyer; one question he asked was if I'd been intimate with her. The point was if the husband challenged us legally my objectivity had to be unassailable.

Of course, few things destroy a reporter's credibility more surely than becoming personally involved with sources -- it's a professional red line you dare not cross. Again, IF Russini was boinking Vrabel it was recklessly stupid and not too bright of him either.

If it was a PI that in fact provided the photos to TMZ, then its entirely possible they have more photos that were given to the client.

If we find out that either Vrable or Russini has a quiet and quick divorce in the near future that would probably confirm that to be the case.

If no divorce occurs in the coming months then its safe to assume this was well timed photos blown out of proportion.

Personally I'm not picking a side for that very reason.

FWIW, her contract with The Athletic expires this August, according to Mike Florio, so they might cut bait either way.

Any sexisim aside, there's a conflict of interest for her as a supposed unbiased reporter, given that she's supposed to fairly cover all teams

Neither the Patriots nor Washington has any such obligation. Owners can question whether they've divulged any confidential info to her - but they can do that with someone they have no relationship with too.

Heck if anything Vrabel may have gotten some inside intel FROM her that helps the Pats - hence her investigation
