So we've had a late day three thread and a mid-round thread so let's talk round two.

The way I see it, what happens in round two depends on two different trajectories resulting from the pick at 31.

1. If we go OT, I think EDGE will be inevitable, very possibly with a trade up.

2. If we go EDGE at 31, I think things are opened up quite a bit. There's no obvious RT at 63 to take allowing us to go in a different direction. I realise some of this has already been discussed across different threads.

So with regards to option 2 (excluding RT and EDGE) according to The Beast, the following are available in range of pick 63.

56. Treydan Stukes, CB/S, Arizona
62. Keylan Rutledge, OG, Georgia Tech
63. Eli Stowers, TE, Vanderbilt
66. Max Klare, TE, Ohio State
67. De'Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss
72. Ted Hurst, WR, Georgia Southern

Zakee Wheatley, S, Penn St., Keionte Scott , CB/S Miami and Kyle Louis, LB/S, Pii are other possibilities.

According to the consensus big board:

58. Keylan Rutledge
60. Gennings Dunker, OG, Iowa
61. Keionte Scott
62. Josiaiah Trotter, LB, Mizzou
63. Treydan Stukes
72. Kyle Louis
75. Max Klare
77. Ted Hurst

Stowers is borderline top 50 on the consensus board so less likely.

I think all this moot if we go Iheanachor/Miller at 31. As I said, at that point, EDGE is very likely somewhere in Rnd 2. However, interior OL, TE and safety (maybe WR depending on the AJ Brown trade) do offer intriguing options if we go elsewhere in the first.

Just saw this post from Mayo after posting mine. More options in round 2 although Pregnon and Bisontis are more trade back from 31 options I suspect.

Tony Pauline reports the Pats are bringing in Emmanuel Pregnon for a visit next week. Wanted to bring Chase Bisontis in, but couldn't make timing work.

I think it is good to look at Pregnon, Bisontis and Rutledge. I want OT in 2026, but if the top guys are off the board it might make sense to address OG. Travis Burke has intriguing traits, but Pregnon/Bisontis/Rutledge are much more developed players who cleanly project to starting roles. All 3 big, physical, athletic.

You might do a service to those not following the draft very closely to list positions when discussing options. Just a thought. Thank you so much.

I don't mean this as criticism. I just think as more folks pay more attention to the board, the posts might have even more value.

I suppose that folks could keep a big board printout out as a reference.

Done. Fair point.

If we go OT at 31 I'm assuming a day 2 EDGE, but not necessarily round 2. It's such a deep class, I suspect some will slip, and trading up from 95 could land one. 95 + 131 gets you to around 87, which is the 2nd of Miami's 4 3rd round picks (75, 87, 90, 94).

My current wet dream is Max Iheanachor + Keylan Rutledge + DDS + Sam Roush. Missing out on Treydan Stukes, Keionte Scott, Jacob Rodriguez and Jake Golday hurts me more than missing out on TJ Parker, Gabe Jacas, Malachi Lawrence and Zion Young. I really love those 4 guys. But I'm leaning towards nailing down the OL and establishing a bully mentality on offense.

Not saying I want these to be the picks, but if we use the Patriots contact list as a guide, then we might need to include the following prospects:

Mike Washington Jr RB (69), can't be ignored due to the triple contact.
Gracen Halton DT (74,) a proday meeting.
Romello Height DE (78), had ProDay and 30 visit.
Oscar Delp TE (87), an interview and a 30 visit.

Am I the only one who would be ok with Caleb Tiernan, Northwestern RT at 63?

For what position? I hope you're not considering him for OT considering all the grief you directed at Will Campbell's arms last year

My issue with Tiernan. Excellent pass blocker but his arms are too short for OT. However he's not a good enough run blocker to play guard in my opinion.

He's too tall for a guard, plays too upright, not explosive enough.

So the options for me.

1. Mesidor - Stukes has been, and always will be, my favourite option. It's still an outside possibility though unlikely.

2. I am starting to really like the idea of Rutledge and Burke being the right side of our OL long-term.

3. Stowers and Klare are really good long-term starting flex TEs potentially. Hunter Henry replaced and maybe upgraded.

4= Keionte Scott's attacking play would be such a nice addition to the Vrabel/Kuhr defense.

4= I'm never going to say no to drafting Stribling.

Note - I'd love Jacob Rodriguez but I don't think we get a sniff unless we pick him with our first pick.

If we go EDGE in the first, I think those are my round two preferences in order.

The pessimist in me has a feeling that Iheanachor and Miller will be gone by the high to mid 20s.

In that scenario would you take Jacas at 31 assuming no trade down partners or is that just too rich?

I think I'd take the DT McDonald who might be BPA.

I'd take Jacas at 31. I really like him, plus I think he's a perfect Vrabel guy.

I never said it had to do with his arm length lol

Everyone else is so focused on measurables. I am just going by watching them for the most part.

I’m warming up to Rutledge and Burke but 1) I don’t think we are drafting two guys that will most likely be backups and 2) I also want Proctor or Halton to go with someone like Jacas.

1. I am really starting to like the combination of Iheanachor and Rutledge being the right side of our OL long-term.

2. Mesidor - Stukes never wears thin.

3. If not Iheanachor/Miller at 31, my preferences are Mesidor, McDonald, Golday or Rodriguez.

4. Stukes, Scott, Golday and Rodriguez strong R2 options in addition to the EDGE rushers. "Keionte Scott's attacking play would be such a nice addition to the Vrabel/Kuhr defense."

5. Chris Bell still high on my list. Stowers a big mismatch, too.

I'd love Proctor. Definitely on my round 3/4 radar. I like Halton too but had given up on him mentally when he started rising up boards.
