2026 Draft: RT

So you don't think he can be a long time starter after a year of seasoning?
I do, and that's definitely worth a 3rd rd pick.
If you factor in his LT experience (two full seasons), at the very least, you're getting a swing tackle year one.

"You are too high with your hands! Lower! Lower!"

I would much rather an Edge or even LB in rd 1 over OT, so Burke is of particular interest to me.
I have seen many mocks recently where all rd 1 OTs, including Iheanachor are gone by 31, so our decision may be made for us before we hit the podium.

If that ends up being how the draft plays out, then Burke becomes more of a focus for me. But I like the 2nd group of OTs (Iheanachor, Miller, Lomu) and would prioritize them at 31 if available.

Let's assume that the Oats are gone at 31. To be kind, I'll further assume Akheem Mesi-ador is on the board at 31, and we take him. I would consider that good value, and good draft tactics.

At 63, some of the following options are available:

- S/nickel Treydan Stukes
- DT Caleb Banks
- LB Jake Golday or Jacob Rodriguez
- WR Chris Bell or Ted Stukes
- OT Travis Burke

In that scenario, the one guy I would immediately eliminate at 63 would be Travis Burke. I have a much lower grade on him. Not worth reaching.

Then I would try to trade up from 63, but for one of those other guys, not for Burke. And then I'd taeget Dametrious Crownover or Jude Bowry day 3 as a swing tackle.

It's nit worth passing up premier players to reach for a swing tackle.

I know your preference, but say all are gone, what position do like?
Safety if options 2 and 3 are there?
LB if Rodriguez is there?
Edge...?
WR if Bell or maybe even someone like Tyson slips...?
I believe you like Banks if he's there.
So let's say OT is off the board, what position do you like at 31 if all other positions where there?

See my edited post above.

I want OT as much as anybody, but no need is absolute. If the top options at any given position are gone, they are gone. Other players will be available.

I'd much rather have:

31. Akheem Mesidor
63. Treydan Stukes, Caleb Banks, or Jake Golday
3rd round: Trade up for Chris Bell or Ted Hurst

and then get a swing tackle day 3, like Bowry or Crowner. I prefer Burke, but not at the expense of taking him before 95 and missing out on a better overall player.

If OT is gone, I'm either taking Jacas or trading back.

I think that the poster is suggesting that it is quite possible that the top OT's and Mesidor are all gone at 31. I certainly think that is a strong possibility. If we wait and hope (rather than trading up), then we will be begging to trade down to a trade partner who would give us value.

It's not like we haven't been here before.

I agree that it is quite possible that all the top OTs and worthy EDGE prospects (I don't think there are many worth taking at 31) will be off the board. That leaves 2 options:

1. Take BPA at 31 regardless of position. Good players will slip through the cracks. Kayden McDonald is one example, who the Pats gave had in for a visit.

2. Trade back.

I would not reach just because OT and EDGE are major needs.
