He did say something already, which is basically that it’s not even worth saying anything:

Vrabel denied any allegation of impropriety in a statement to Page Six. “These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable," he said. "This doesn’t deserve any further response.”

Like I said in an earlier post, nothing they say is going to matter much. Let's say they were actually cheating on their spouses. Nobody expects them to do anything but lie about it until it's undeniable.

It could be totally innocent, but the reality is that either way they are expected to deny.

The best way to handle it is to let it blow over and not give it fuel so it can die as the news cycle gets bored of it

Vrabel already addressed it, and The Athletic has already backed them up saying that the photos are completely out of context and that there was a group of people with them. I think the next step is for assholes like Felger to go to Vrabel's next press conference and talk his **** to Vrabel's face. He won't do it because he's a little chickenshit who talks all sorts of **** every day and doesn't have the balls to ever say it to anyone's face.
 
The ironic thing is that there are two most likely explanations for this - either Vrabel and Russini are having an affair or someone is setting them up for nefarious reasons - and the latter explanation is probably the bigger story.

I don't care if Vrabel and Russini are having an affair. It is a scummy thing to do, but it doesn't affect me one iota. It doesn't affect the Patriots either. It is between them and their families.

But if someone is setting them up, what is the goal? Are they trying to destroy one or both Vrabel and Russini's careers or personal lives? Are they trying to blow up and potential trade for AJ Brown since Russini was the reporter who reported most on any trade rumors about Brown last month? If this is the real story behind these photos, this is real nefarious story that we should be looking at. It could just be the paparazzi looking to generate a story to sell newspapers, but it could be more nefarious.

These people have just about everything in their lives due to the $ they get for their hard work and dedication. Would not surprise me the least to hear “open relationships “ are quite common for them as well. Since they have just about everything else, it would be the cherry on top, so to say. And in the same boat as you…don’t care whatcha do with yourself. I just wish more people were like this.

I think that is a naive view. If this leads to trouble for Vrabel on the homefront, it could definitely impact his work life.

My working theory - which I gladly admit is just a wild ass guess based on no evidence whatsoever - is Russini’s husband hired a PI to track her to either find if she is being unfaithful and if so, get some incriminating evidence.

Either that or some freelance photog just happened to be there at the same time. Who knows….
 
 
Vrabel constantly preached that the Patriots are "family" and "family first" r.e. the team...and yet he steps out on his wife and brings embarrassment to his kids. How's this going to fly next season when the Pats lose their first game and he tells them their all "his" football family? Let's rally around our family! OK coach, just like you "rallied around" the nfl reported in the hot tub? And for him so to chide Henderson for Henderson's religious beliefs is extremely rich.
 
The second it becomes our business as fans is if she starts interfering in football decisions.

I imagine I don't have to point out who I'm talking about...

EDIT: Yeah, who hired the dork who took the pictures? That is an excellent point raised.

Tuesday's report from Page Six of the New York Post regarding the photos of Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and New York Times reporter Dianna Russini raises plenty of fair questions moving forward.

That's the thing. If it was actually a private investigator and the best they got was an ass-out hug with his arm not actually touching her back, hands touching with both arms outstretched like he's teaching her how to block, and chilling in the pool with space between them arms crossed not touching, then either that's the worst PI in the business or there wasn't anything to catch and it really was just two people chilling.

I think video would also tell a lot of the story if there is a story to be told. It's one thing to have a still photo of them locking hands it's another to show a 15 second hug on those rooftops. If I was a PI I'd be taking plenty of video with the photos.

It's interesting that there is no video with this story so far.

First of all, he preaches that the team is a family, not so much about the players' families. He's focused on the family in the locker room first and foremost. Obviously most of these players are no choir boys and have kids with several mothers and other situations.

Second, he maintains that there was no infidelity here and there is no evidence to prove otherwise. He has backed his players when they have faced media/legal scrutiny for worse (accusations of violence against women) and I would imagine that his players would be willing to believe his story in return and that the media is selling a narrative against him and the team, same as they're always making **** up about the Patriots.

Third, many are quick to rib about the Henderson comments, but need to keep in mind that Henderson was agreeing with an NBA player who was actually suspended over his comments. Within context, Vrabel simply remarking on it is a far lower level than that. I get it, religious beliefs and all that, but all these guys need to be careful with what they say online whether it's about this topic or any other that is potentially inflammatory. The outcome could've been worse if Vrabel wished it to be and I imagine some other coaches would have taken it further or been pressured by their organization/the media to do so.

Considering the type of camera hardware they were working with, I doubt there isn't a video, but the video didn't support the story so it wasn't released. My guess is that they took many many many many many photos and picked out the worst looking single snapshots. Most fans see this single frame and think they're just holding each other indefinitely gazing at the mountains but in reality it may have been a 0.5 second half-hug greeting before they let go.

We know Vrabel is a hugger, he gave damn near every player a hug after every game going into the locker room. Is he boning every player in the locker room too?

You were the one claiming they were with "a group of people". Seems like those of us to draw the obvious conclusion on what is happening in these photos are more grounded in reality while the "defend the wall" nerds are coming with 25 different "what ifs?"
