Patriots Rumor Tracker / FA Signings (Updated: Signings in OP - 4/7)

Random reply: Some of us are hoping that swing guy is Munford who is currently recovering from a minor procedure on the knee.

Mister Mumpsferd ****ing Sucks. Dude's a Blob.

I didn't see a Patriots off-season news thread and didn't want to start a new thread so I'll just post this here.
Huge shot at Belichick.

Huge shot at Belichick? Okay, agree.

But my first thought of a 'huge shot' was at least equal if not more in regards to 2024 with Mayo, and then the final years of Belichick secondly.

Wolf was hired in 2020. The Patriots went 7-9, 10-7 and 8-9 in his first three seasons in New England, before the back-to-back 4-13 seasons.

I've always been weary of Wolf. I also don't believe he's all that great in regards to the draft process. In fact, taking him OUT of the process and relegating him to just doing contracts would be best..

Yeah, Wolfie...
Not sure what to think, when he passed on Luke, and grabbed Polk and Baker, who both fkn SUCK!

He can go fk himself afaic. Bah

Saw Grogan's name and reminded me of a friend who told me he saw a player at Foxboro on crutches and I said oh yeah, Steve Grogan. Happy Easter,

I watched Elijah Badger a lot at Florida and was impressed with him. KC drafted him last year but they cut him after signing him to PS. Now he is in UFL and tearing it up (even tho it is the UFL which I get) But I think he is worth a look from Pats….And would be a cheap signing….

I think they will go edge & Oline with their 1st two picks, not sure which order. But I see them grabbing at least 1 WR & 1 TE in rounds 3 on down.

One very interesting WR is a project, but a physical freak. Jeff Caldwell is 6’5” 215, ran a 4.31, had a 42 inch vertical, 134 inch broad jump (99th percentile), has pretty big hands at 9 3/4. Just a freak of a specimen. Explosive. I know he didn’t have a great year, but in 2024, he had 53 catches for 1032 yards and 11 tds. I always want the Pats to take a home run swing at this kind of prospect, they never do, and a lot of them wind up productive for their teams. This guy would be a great red zone target as well, tough matchup.
Caldwell had great combine ….one of best WR there….heres a draft review on him….one thing that stands out is Hands: 4/10…. we don’t need another Harry or Polk!!! definitely a very interesting project player though, and he will be available late rounds… Thanks for bringing him up

No matter the direction provided by Mayo, it is still on Wolf for trading Ladd McConkey for two WRs who can’t play.

As bad as Mayo was you can’t lay that at his feet.

I'm really glad that wolfe doesn't have as much say so in the actual decision making process. He greatly benefits from his dad's name. The mcconkey pick had to be the last brainfart he and belichick worked on.

Anthony Hill Jr is my guy in this draft, outside of an elite Edge that I don't think we will get.

Really think that a LB of his caliber will complete this defensive into a top 5 unit year in and year out.

Why would we want a LB "who plays like his hair is on fire"? Swatting at his helmet in vain.
Reminds me of super fast Slater who in WR attempts swatted at passes like he was being attacked by a swarm of bees.
DISCLOSURE: I know less than zero about college football players & the draft. As if you could not tell.

Couple of things.
- Elliot Wolf's name doesnt have an "E" at the end.
- The picks of Polk and Baker were completely that of Wolf. He was the defacto GM with little input from MAYO.. BB was already gone the 2025 draft.

I think BB was gone when the McConkey pick happened.
Mayo was HC and the NE front office took Baker and Polk in lieu of Mckonnky.

Wolf taking a swipe at BB is comical when the Pats had no QB. Vrabel was so lucky in 2025 and fans are expecting 2026 to be the same.
