Cool Link VIDEO: Efton Chism Getting After It

Hostility towards offense?
What are we, 5 years old?

Get real, didn't you watch?
We lost at the fkn LOS.

Have fun though. Bah
You apparently didn't read all my posts. I'll just quote myself in this particular thread.

"OL was another missing piece of the puzzle. That's presumably why we spent a pretty penny on Vera-Tucker. The Patriots offensive meltdown wasn't just the WRs fault. But neither were they good enough. It was a team loss in the Superbowl.

Granted it was a remarkable WIN to get that far in the first place. But we need to acknowledge the holes in the roster to get better, not bury our heads in the sand and pretend we had an elite WR group who could make plays against top defenses in the playoffs. They didn't."

And here's another one.

"However Drake Maye's production during the playoffs dropped precipitously.

One factor was the poor performance of the OL but the other factor was the lack of elite talent in the WR corps. Diggs who was our only 1,000 yard receiver during the regular season was a non-factor in the playoffs.

If the Patriots wish to hoist another Lombardi they must improve all weak points in the roster. This includes the OL and WRs."

Basic reading skills is all it takes to follow the conversation.

I've been seeing DUMB for a while bruh, I'm fkn good with it.
Enjoy eating sandwiches looking at a mirror.
You're definitely the best.
Take Care.

"The Patriots WR corps was adequate in putting up regular season receiving yards. But they were well below par in the playoffs against elite defenses.

Now they have lost Diggs their best WR of the past season and only replaced with a #2 quality WR in Doubs. The concerns about improving the WR group are grounded in reality based on performance metrics and the eye test alike."

Let me quote myself in response. I said specifically the Patriots WR corps performed adequately in the regular season but well below par against elite defenses. There's nothing dishonest about what I said. Of course it's harder to score against elite defenses such as the ones you will face in the playoffs.

Statistics measure performance and give us indicators of where improvement is needed. If the Patriots beat a team 10-9 in the playoffs and only scored 10 points and put up just 120 yards of offense I would say they did just enough to win but could use improvements. Let's not pretend there's no need for improvements if the offense just manages to scrape by with a win.

This open hostility against needing to improve the roster on the offensive side baffles me. It's like we're still living in BB's twilight era and think somehow the offense will magically be good enough when it's lacking the requisite talent. That's exactly the attitude that led us to back to back 4-13 seasons with the offense ranking 28th or worse in the entire NFL.

Your reading comprehension is utterly pathetic. I stated you made good points and yet totally chose to ignore how the level of the defenses were top of the league. Of course the stats go down when we play top defenses. No kidding, Einstein.

IF that Translates for Chism in TC: Pop Douglas ain't going to make it. That said I would love Cyrus Allen on Day 3.

Or Pop is the sacrificial lamb in the AJ Brown trade.

Pop can do those very moves Chism is doing a lot quicker. But for some reason He has not Translated well: I thought Pop was going to be uncover able.

Pop is an outside receiver that lacks height...severely. He doesn't know how to beat zone...especially in the short area. He is not a fit in Josh's offense. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Chism have a better 3-cone if they were both tested today .

If every 5'11'' slow white guy was the next Welker or Edelman, I'd be cathing passes from Drake.

Good to see that he’s working hard. Chism is in the mix for the WR5/6 spots so let’s see what he does in camp.

Sure, maybe the #5 and #6 WR will jointly total more than one catch a game this year.

We’ll see…when you start going past WR4, there really aren’t a lot of catches to be had.

I used to love seeing 7-9 people catching Tommy’s passes in a game.
Me too…but that usually included a couple of TEs and a couple of RBs.

Barring injuries, WR5s and 6s aren’t getting a lot of run on offense except for a very specific play or two. If those guys play, it’s normally on STs.

If I'm Wolf/Vrabel, now that Brissett has been named the short-term starter for Arizona, I'm reaching out to them to see if they'll offer a late round pick for Douglas at the draft. This would give Brissett a weapon he knows well and would help the Cardinals offense.

FIFY. Pop has shown enough to be worth more than a pittance, even if he is de-valued around here.

I think it's a pipe dream to think that they'll anything more than a 5th-7th (aka late) round pick for Douglas.

Ask high. It’s easier to negotiate down than negotiate up.

Pop is an exceptional athlete to be used on trick plays. Nothing more. His trade value is zilch.
Agreed. He's talented but he needs to be involved in end-a-rounds, screens and more players to utilize his speed and quickness. He's a nice complimentary player.
