2026 Draft: RT

8 top 30 visits for Travis Burke now and that doesn't include the virtual meetings and pro day meetings.

It's interesting how everyone missed on him until the combine and now everyone is scrambling to get to know him.

It also shows the importance of OT.

Every team hoping to get a Jordan Mailata.

Pros: (1) He's above average athletic for a 6'9" 325# guy, and (2) he annihilates people once he latches on.

Cons: He doesn't have the athleticism or nimble footwork of a Freeling, Iheanachor, or even Miller. He can get off balance, and struggles to re-direct.

He's more like Kadyn Proctor to me, but still the most interesting OT in this class outside of the top group.

Lions reportedly moving Penei Sewell from RT to LT. Brandon Thorn comments:

Lazar on Travis Burke, he will have a lot of problems with NFL speed rushers. Lazar didn't sound hopeful.

Marcus Bell will most likely do better in that regard.

Marcus Bell???

I worry that Travis Burke is too slow footed and slow to redirect to handle NFL caliber speed rushers.

I doubt Markell Bell would do better.

Comp time again

Travis Burke

6-9, 325lbs
5.17 forty, 1.79 split, 8'11" broad (we won't talk about the vert)

Sebastian Vollmer

6-8, 312
5.13 forty, 1.77 split, 9'3" broad.

Burke didn't do the agility tests which Vollmer was very strong at so I won't labour the comp, but even so, aside from the vert (a 9" difference), pretty close.

I don't personally see much of Vollmer in Burke. Vollmer much more athletic by every metric - you can't just disregard his 36.5" VJ, tied with Trisran Wirfs - and had much lighter feet.

Burke is an intriguing prospect, but I think you're reaching.
