Firstly, I don't think Delp's tape is very impressive. Not much nuance to his routes, gets bullied by smaller DB's at the catch point too often. He's a willing blocker but not particularly good at it in my opinion. Lacks play strength.
But the thing about Delp that really bugs me, that perhaps unfairly raises red flags, is that he was took over from Brock Bowers in an offense that was designed around the TE, and now they seem to actively avoid targeting the TE. You would, of course, expect a downturn in TE production after Bowers, but not to this extent. Where in a must have 3rd down they'll inevitably throw to Zachariah Branch behind the line of scrimmage rather than look for Delp. Over and over.
