2026 Draft: Tight Ends

Firstly, I don't think Delp's tape is very impressive. Not much nuance to his routes, gets bullied by smaller DB's at the catch point too often. He's a willing blocker but not particularly good at it in my opinion. Lacks play strength.

But the thing about Delp that really bugs me, that perhaps unfairly raises red flags, is that he was took over from Brock Bowers in an offense that was designed around the TE, and now they seem to actively avoid targeting the TE. You would, of course, expect a downturn in TE production after Bowers, but not to this extent. Where in a must have 3rd down they'll inevitably throw to Zachariah Branch behind the line of scrimmage rather than look for Delp. Over and over.

Maybe I'm being harsh, but I do find it concerning

Delp is super-athletic and shows flashes, but he was very inconsistent and not as productive as one would like. Not a easy eval. I like him, but not before 95. Day 3 I think he is a good gamble.

Could be great, could be a tease.

I have the same concern, but do have a question for someone that watches more Georgia football than I. Since Delp is a better blocker than Bowers was Delp used more to block rather than being sent into a route?

I don't think you're being harsh at all because with his athleticism he could have been a big mismatch, so his lack of usage is a pretty big red flag to me.

I am going to post this here, not that you made a comment about Roush. I find his hands and number of drops concerning and have seen him mocked to us in the 3rd. I am in the minority it seems but I want no part of him.

Fair points. I wonder how much of the downgrade from Bowers to Delp is down to Stockton. That athleticism is enticing though. I’m with Mayo. 95 at best.

I forget where, but elsewhere I read a discussion of how Stockton had one of the longest times to release the ball of any QB, and how that influenced Georgia's entire offense. It makes a lot of evaluations very difficult.

I'm bullish on Delp, but cautiously so. 2nd round too rich for my blood.

I would love for us to get Both Delp and Roush we'd be set at TE until Drake Mayes decides to hangs em up.

I think Roush's floor is being a more athletic Will Kacmarek. The drops and short arms may limit Roush to that, but he has a legitimate shot at becoming a complete Y-TE, which is something I highly value.

Really?? Well, I guess that I haven't availed myself of all these various opinions that would rate him so lowly. The lowest I've seen was a mid-4th. But that was a report from just prior to the start of this past college year.

The first time I watched him was in whatever all star game he was in and he dropped a ball when he was wide open. I cannot get over that 1st impression

That fact that he is athletic and a good blocker will boost him up the board, but I can't get over the amount of drops he has had

I have Roush - Stowers - Delp on my short board. Stowers will probably be gone before I would take him (95), but he has been very productive, has only been playing TE for 3 years, is extremely athletic, and offers some difference-making capability.

I keep thinking about yhe TEs in terms of James Foster's point guard comparison:

1. "Dominate simple, as much as possible."

2. "How dramatic is the advantage/space creation?"

3. "Show me the special."

Think about Roush, Stowers and Delp with respect to these 3 things. All 3 guys win at the thing they do well, create mismatch advantages, and offer something special.

Speaking fo TE's I know he's a Move off the LOS TE: I think Michael Trigg is going to fall through the cracks. His frame looks like he could develop into a Y eventually but I don't know about his Blocking desire.
