Your word, not mine. I never said that.
You compared him to Asante Samuel, who is disliked by Patriot fans for being an *******.

Me either.I can't think of any instance where Gonzalez has done something offensive.
Clearly Gonzo is the better player on the field. The comparison is related to how he is negotiating his contract. A contract that I want to see happen.
I agree, Asante was and still is the epitome of a me first player. I don't think Gonzo is at that level.Yes, I know what you were referring to.
I don’t think Gonzo has come close to Samuel’s antics back in the day from memory.
I would have felt better if you hadn't made that comparison. I remember Samuel an unwilling tackler and good at breaking on the sideline route but lacking in the middle of the field.Wow, everyone sure loves themselves some Gonzo. This entire thread is about a player going to a Celtics game and taking the opportunity to say he wants his money. As a fan I am allowed to find that irritating. Gonzo is Asante Samuel with more talent.
Seriously? Clearly he was trying to gain public support to put pressure on the team. At this point it is better to stop wasting time on something so trivial. I thing Gonzo is one of the best CBs in the league and want the team to find a way to resign him.How is he negotiating his contract?
Noted, LOL.I would have felt better if you hadn't made that comparison. I remember Samuel an unwilling tackler and good at breaking on the sideline route but lacking in the middle of the field.

I will say, Samuel made one of the best tackles I’ve seen a CB make.I would have felt better if you hadn't made that comparison. I remember Samuel an unwilling tackler and good at breaking on the sideline route but lacking in the middle of the field.
Indeed. Felger flogged that story HARD.The best example was last year and his hamstring injury. There were many reports that he waited longer than necessary to ensure that he didn't compromise his bargaining position by playing at less than 100%.
Found it!I would have felt better if you hadn't made that comparison. I remember Samuel an unwilling tackler and good at breaking on the sideline route but lacking in the middle of the field.
Also, its the agent that drives the deal. And they always want the most they can get.It is much safer to assume Gonzalez will demand every penny he can get. I wouldn't project any sort of "his personality doesn't seem that way" kind of thinking onto it. These are people risking their future health for a decade, at absolute best, of entertainment. Period.

It isn't just this thread or the article that generated discussion, multiple talk radio shows referenced Gonzo being at the game and his gesture. The possibility that this is a simple misunderstanding would be aga welcome relief.Actually this thread is full of people outright assuming the entire mental thought process of someone approaching their contract discussions by a brief, less-than-a-minute camera appearance of him at a basketball game when he simply could've been showing that money signal to say "the Celtics are money", as in they're good and they're winning against the best team in the NBA. Very common hand signal in sports and basketball and in general.

Fixed that for youYou compared him to Asante Samuel, who is disliked by Patriot fans for dropping a sure game winning INT and being an *******.
Fixed that for you
