2026 Draft: EDGE

I’m on board with:
A) Taking Mesidor or Parker at 31
B) Trading back a bit and taking Howell, Jacas, Young or Lawrence
C) Going OL in round 1, then using a 4th and a 6th or two to trade up in round 2 to grad one of the B group plus Thomas, Moore or Crawford.

I’m thinking C is the most likely of options.

1) Iheanachor/Miller
2) Jacas

I’m not ready to give up on Swinson yet either:

An Edge room of:
D. Jones
Landry
Jacas
Ponder
Swinson

Would be pretty solid

Gabe Jacas v Caleb Tiernan

Some definite wins for Jacas but was noticeable is that his effort and refusal to quit gets him two or three more on top.

I just heard about this guy this week.

I don’t really like the edges likely available at 31. They either seem to be solely 3rd down speed rushers - and I’m not spending a 1st rounder on a part time player, or push the pocket types without huge amounts in the way of pass rush. Both archetypes seem like round 2 picks to me. Plus there doesn’t seem to be much of a drop off to the next wave on day 2.

Which of the Edges with a 1st round grade do you believe are only "part-time" players? Just because someone is primarily a speed rusher doesn't mean they are only a part-time player. This sounds like a personal bias in regards to what you believe and not what is an actuality..

Cashius Howell and R Mason Thomas are basically sub rushers, and are sometimes getting mocked in the 1st. Romello Height is another, though I haven't seen him mocked in the 1st round since last Fall.

Zion Young and Gabe Jacas are power rushers.

Malachi Lawrence (1.58 10-split) and Dani Dennis-Sutton (1.63 10-split, 6.90 3C) seem to offer the most potential as a combination of speed and power).

I don't believe that Howell would only be a sub-rusher. Same with Thomas. Maybe for their 1st year, but teams would be expecting them to be starters by year 2..

Gabe Jacas wins equally as a speed rusher and a power rusher. He's more balanced than DDS and Lawrence.
