2026 Mock Draft Thread

Dolphins picking directly before us in the 1st, 3rd and 4th round.

Interesting CLNS Patriots 3 round mock from Evan Lazar and Taylor Kyles, including a trade back from 31:

He has the Pats taking:

34 (from Arizona). Denzel Boston, WR, Washington.

63. Derrick Moore, EDGE, Michigan.

95. Dametrious Crownover, RT, Texas A&M.

104 (from Arizona). Jack Endries, TE, Texas.

125. Jalon Kilgore, CB/S, S. Carolina.

131. Dallen Bentley, TE, Utah.

Notes:

1. OT seen as a high priority. Lazar notes: "With top right tackles Max Iheanachor and Blake Miller off the board, and multiple potential fits available in WR Denzel Boston, WR KC Concepcion, and ED Zion Young still available, the Patriots traded their first-rounder to the Cardinals." So RT is considered a strong need, and a trade back is preferred if the top targets are off the board. I think this is correct.

Crownover at 95 is a great fallback plan at OT. After that, for me it is Travis Burke day 3. I'm not sold on Barber or Bowry.

2. WR over EDGE. Lazar mocks Denzel Boston over Zion Young at 34 (not sure who else is available). So he does not seem to be in the "if we don't get an EDGE at 31, our season is over before it starts" camp. I have similar grades on Boston and Young, both top 50 guys who I would prefer not to take at 31, but would gladly take with a trade back, depending on who else is available. I have Boston as X3 after Chris Bell and Ted Hurst.

3. OT, X WR, EDGE. These are I think the correct top 3 needs, in whatever order, and Lazar addresses them in the first 3 rounds. Derrick Moore is a solid pick, depending on who else was available (DDS, Malachi Lawrence and Gabe are guys I would prefer of available).

4. Picking up a high 4th. I love this. I would hope for someone like Kyle Louis, Devin Moore, VJ Payne/Zakee Wheatley, or Sam Roush. I don't think Jack Endries is worth taking at 104, personally.

5. Double dip at TE. Not sure I get this. I would much rather address LB, S, or CB than double dip at TE. I like Bentley, but would prefer Sam Roush or Oscar Delp.

Overall, an interesting and well thought out mock.

If they dont trade for Brown WR has to be a top need. The main issue i have is: we have a lot of needs, basically WR,TE,LB,S,EDGE,RT. But the only position where we need an immediate starter is EDGE. Unless they think Landry is ok to be a starter. So if i have to pick, the choice is obvious.

Dale Altman at Cincy Jungle has just put out really nice top-300 board.. Tons of comments and embedded video clips.

8. Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia
7. David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech
6. Arvell Reese, LB/EDGE, Ohio St.
3. Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio St.

I've underscored guys I would be particularly interested in if they fell anywhere near their listed range. There are some players that did not fit well, even though I liked them, based on where they were listed (e.g., Ted Hurst at 56 not likely to drop to 64).

Allowing for slight variation (+ pick day 1, 2 day 2, 3 day 3, 5 4th round and 10 rounds 5-7), if the draft followed this board, these would be my picks:

1(31). Max Iheanachor, OT, Arizona St. (36). No EDGE remaining is worth taking, and I would lock down OT.

2(63). Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn St. (80). Those would be a tough call between Dennis-Sutton and Treydan Stukes (79), but EDGE is the greater need. Mike Washington (65) would also he appealing, but cannot justify RB at this point.

With Dennis-Sutton and Zion Young both on the board, I might to back a few spots, grab one, and then trade up from 95 to get Treydan Stukes or Kyle Louis (78).

3(95). Devin Moore, CB, Florida (105). I am not a fan of the options here, would like to trade up. I want an X WR, but Ted Hurst is gone, and I am not a huge fan of Bryce Lance (104) or Malachi Fields (108). If I liked them more they would likely be the pick if I couldn't move up from 95, but as things stand Devin Moore is my BPA.

4(125). Sam Roush, TE, Stanford (124). This one is easy for me.

4(131). VJ Payne, S, Kansas St. (157). There are no X WRs in this range, and I have Payne graded much higher. I might try to trade back a bit if possible.

If we had traded up from 95 for Treydan Stukes or Kyle Louis, this pick could be used on a CB like Tacario Davis (131) or CJ Demmings (166), or it could have been used in trade.

5(171). Keagan Trost, OL, Missouri (177), or JC Davis, OL, Illinois (162). Either has potential starting RG plus swing tackle ability, which makes them incredibly versatile and valuable. Missing out on Adam Randall (168) hurts. CJ Demmings (166) might have been a target if we hadn't gone with Devin Moore.

6(191). Oscar Delp, TE, Georgia (194).

6(198). Jeff Caldwell, WR, Cincinnati (227). I have a 4th round grade on Caldwell, like his upside more than Trey Lance or Malachi Fields.

6(202). Eli Heidenreich, WR, Navy (237). Julian Edelman upside.

6(214). Damonte Capehart, DL, Clemson (214).

7(247). Jack Kelly, LB, BYU (247). I would have liked to address LB earlier. Damn not signing Leo Chenal.

Got the following variants on PFSN, no trades:

1(31). Max Iheanachor, OT, Arizona St.
2(63). Caleb Banks, DL, Florida
3(95). Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn St.
4(125). Kyle Louis, LB/S, Pittsburgh
4(131). Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame
5(171). Sam Roush, TE, Stanford
6(191). Jeff Caldwell, WR, Cincinnati
6(198). Eli Heidenreich, WR, Navy
6(202). Billy Schrauth, IOL, Notre Dame
6(222). Lorenzo Styles, S, Ohio St.
7(247). Travis Burke, OT, Memphis St.

I was tempted to take Eli Stowers at 95.

Biggest misses:

52. Treydan Stukes
98. Eli Stowers
124. Devin Moore
158. VJ Payne
174. Adam Randall
183. Keagan Trost

Overall, pretty happy with that:

- OL a strength: Max Iheanachor has huge upside, Travis Burke swing tackle potential, Billy Schrauth starting RG potential. Micah Morris was an option instead of Schrauth.

- DL/EDGE vastly improved with Caleb Banks and Dani Dennis-Sutton.

- WR/TE room strengthened with Malachi Fields and Jeff Caldwell at X, Eli Heidenreich in the slot, and Sam Roush as a true potential Y TE.

- LB/S improved with Kyle Louis. Lorenzo Style offers CB/S upside with a ton of speed, should ve a ST demon.

I would have liked CB and RB depth, but you can't have everything.

I prefer any mock that has Treydan Stukes in it. I'm 'team EDGE in the first' and I think that would be better than Dani Denis-Sutton personally.
I am definitely in the Edge camp as our biggest need, but also recognize the drop off in RT after the very early 2nd rd.
So is DDS that far behind Jacas, Howell, Thomas, Parker.....etc in terms of production and potential?
Maybe he is and maybe we defer RT till later in the draft or next year. Or Maybe we resign Munford and him or Bryant are potential longer term starters.
I wonder if Wallace will ever enter the fray.
He was drafted to be a LT which was a huge mistake. Tried him at OG which was a fail, but his natural position with extension experience is RT.
Maybe he can rise from the dead to enter the mix......but doubtful.

I'm really intrigued by Travis Burke from Memphis, not so much by his size which is great but by his grades. Top 5 OT in this draft as a pass blocker in true pass sets and one of the best run blockers as a zone blocker. And he's nasty too which I like. I'd roll with him, and maybe Munford too, and see what he can become. That's where I'm leaning right now.

That one pic of him floating around in a pass set makes him look like an absolute monster.
Don't know much about him, but he certainly is menacing to look at.

We all have our favorites. For me personally, disregarding guys that are consensus top 20 picks:

OT: Max Iheanachor (top 40); alternate: Travis Burke (round 3-4)

EDGE: Dani Dennis-Sutton (round 2, possibly top 50); alternate: Keyron Crawford (round 3-4)

S: Treydan Stukes (round 2, possibly top 50); alternate: VJ Payne (round 4)

LB: Jake Golday or Jacob Rodriguez (round 2); alternates: Kyle Louis (round 3-4), Kaleb Elarms-Orr (day 3)

TE: Sam Roush (round 3-4); alternate: Eli Raridon (day 3)

X-WR: Chris Bell or Ted Hurst (round 2); alternate: DeZhaun Stribling or Jeff Caldwell (day 3)

RB: Mike Washington (day 2); alternate: Adam Randall (day 3)

CB: Devin Moore (round 3-4); alternate: CJ Demmings (day 3)

This is where I am now in terms of an ideal draft for me.

I'm using the consensus big board and not taking anyone ranked higher than their respective picks.

31. Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois.

(This is still Mesidor ideally but I'm assuming he's gone).

Thanks to @DaBruinz for getting me to take another look at him. I just think he's the ideal Vrabel prospect. Excellent character, work ethic, effort and those "violent hands" he's described as having. He was productive (12 sacks), had one of the more varied pass rush suites in terms of wins (a 40-40 split winning with power or speed). Throw in player comps of Matt Judon (Lance Zierlein) or Trey Hendrickson (Todd McShay) and I think you have a 3 down player with some scheme versatility who can give you solid sack numbers year after year with potential upside to get into the 12-15 sacks per year range.

63. Treydan Stukes, S, Arizona

Sorry to be unoriginal here but I just think he's a perfect Patriot. Great character, great athleticism, smart, excellent against the run and scheme versatile in that he can play slot corner, nickel safety (which could get him on the field year one) and free safety. He's the ideal compliment that enables Woodson to play nearer to the LoS which is his strength.

95. Sam Roush, TE, Stanford or
Oscar Delp, TE, Georgia or
Keyron Crawford, EDGE, Auburn

This is the tough one for me as I like all three equally. Double dipping Jacas and Crawford could give us our future at EDGE but this is also a good place to get the 'best of the rest' at TE and I just can't separate Roush and Delp in my mind. I would be fine with any of the three.

125. De'Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss

Stribling's versatility is what does it for me. I think he can be a Boutte or Hollins replacement and can give you reps as a big slot. At this point in the draft, I think he's the receiver that gives you the most opportunities to get a successful draft pick at WR.

131. Travis Burke, OT, Memphis

Simply my favourite of the later round tackles. Swing tackle and 6th OL year one and see if he can be developed into a starting RT beyond that.

171. Adam Randall, RB, Clemson

When the FO look at two RBs only and both happen to be 230 pound plus, that tells you something. He's developmental but there's good raw material to work with. I also think that he and Stribling could give us KR reps too, something we're sorely lacking.

191. Jimmy Rolder, LB, Michigan

Instinctive, excellent tackling, linebacker. An ideal Gibbins replacement and potential future Spillane replacement.

198. Micah Morris, RG, Georgia or
Keagen Trost, OL, Missouri

Again, I can't decide between the two. Perhaps Trost just about gets the edge but it's close. both are people movers who can back up Onwenu year one and replace him year two.

202. Skyler Gil-Howard, DT, Texas Tech

This is a position - the penetrating 3-tech - that the Patriots have taken a good look at. Kaleb Proctor and Landon Robinson are gone by this point but are two I like, particularly Proctor. However, i've liked Gil-Howard for a while and he fits the profile too.

212. Justin Jefferson, LB, Alabama

Adds some speed to the linebacker corps.

247. Haynes King, QB, Georgia Tech

Another day 3 prospect I've been high on for a while. He'd be QB3 with the potential to become QB2 but he's another very high intangibles prospect with legitimate athletic highs that, if the worst was to happen, could have an offense built around him to cover for Maye for a multi-game period.

Other day 3 prospects I really like:

J Michael Sturdivant, WR, Florida
Colbie Young, WR, Georgia.
Ceyair Wright, CB, Nebraska
Logan Taylor, OL, Boston College
Ethan Burke, DL, Texas
Trey Moore, EDGE/LB, Texas
Jordan Van Den Berg, DL, Georgia Tech
