NFL News Dolphins Trading Jaylen Waddle to Broncos

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
Miami could be trouble in a couple of years with a lot cap space in the following two years and all the draft picks. They have 7 of the top 94 picks and 9 of the top 150. In this draft that is found gold.
And UFA list pretty deep next year, though as we've consistently seen, teams re-up their players with the cap growing by $20M+
I hope they make plenty of mistakes moving forward but they just got a HAUL for Waddle.

They have to hit on those draft picks.
Their history shows that they just don't do that.

Miami had their small window when they traded for Hill, but weren't built well enough overall to even make the playoffs. The didn't have a short yardage or power running game and the defense wasn't good. McDaniel ran out of ideas once his initial attack didn't work.

I think Doubs has a higher ceiling for the Pats than folks will allow. It's always a case of coveting the other teams players around here.

Before everyone jumps on me, I think he's probably 1000-1200 yards tops. But here on PF, he's immediately discounted because he's who they signed.
Yes, we can succeed without adding a top WR and using the resources elsewhere.

And, yes, we can succeed better with a top WR on the team.
======
We had a better than average passing game last year. We don't NEED better receivers We NEED a better OL than in 2025. We NEED a better run-blocking from the OL, FB and TE. These will improve the passing game more than the addition of one top WR.

That being said, we would be a better passing team and a better Offense if were to trade for Brown. BTW, the 2026 cost is very, very low. We would basically use our 2027 #1 to draft Brown. Of course, his cost and probability of success is much higher than whatever 50% player we would have drafted.

We also sucked until this year
i will accept midlin' (around .500) for the first 3 years... 23 & 24 were bad... still went 7-0 vs us

hes not a bad qb... hes just not very good... not buying the excuse about waddles lack of production being tuas fault

The cold weather and injuries really slowed them down every year. Tua has one of the weakest arms in the league and when the weather gets bad he couldn't throw the ball just like another noodle armed Alabama product we all had the misfortune of watching.

The players are gone. The caps remain.

I don't hate it. Flush it all at once and tank. Pull off the band-aid and reset. That is how i would do it.

We have a lot of knee-jerk going on here, but I guess it's to be expected, it's the same every year.
I agree. It is the same every year for the last 30 years. Have to admire the consistency.

I guess, if you throw out the first 20 years of this century that would be true.

When was Miami's last Super Bowl appearance?

Anyone old enough to remember?

The quest for the first overall pick continues.

So the Dolphins essentially gain a 1st and 3rd while moving back in the 4th. So the total trade value is more like a late 1st and an early 4th.

Waddle is a young WR who has had three 1,000 yard seasons to start his career but has tailed off in the past couple of seasons.

I feel like Tua's lack of arm has been a disservice to Waddle so the winner of this trade is the Broncos as long as Waddle stays healthy.

100% correct. They are not getting all pro OL or DE at 31.
AJ Brown isn't an All-Pro anymore.

The fact you're stumping for the guy that requires his knee to be drained weekly and you're ignoring that fact speaks volumes about your inability to properly assess players.
