Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
I'm starting to reconsider. If it is a post-June trade, the 1st rounder for AJ would be in '27 right??
I think we can get a TE3, EDGE3, LB4, OG4, OT4 in the draft.

But having AJ Brown / Doubs / Boutte / Williams / Hollins / Chism - would be legit.

Maybe Goedert taking a cut paves the way for a Brown extension to lower his cap hit with Philly so they have a longer term answer?

I can deal with that.

I doubt Brown will do an extension unless they vastly over pay for him. He wants out of Philly.

Schefter says the Eagles have more picks than they need in '26, and would actually prefer '27/28 picks. Sounds like he thinks a post-June 1 trade is more likely.

3rd best offense against historically bad teams.
Where was that offense in the playoffs in the Super Bowl?
The offense is not good when it matters most
Ever got anything positive to say Sam?

Next year's NFL draft is to supposed to be the greatest draft in many generations.

I think the Patriots know this.

God forbid they pull a 2002 Patriots and go 10-7 and miss the playoffs. In which case we'd be trading the 18th pick to the Eagles during a draft in which the 18th pick is rated more like this year's 4th pick.

The 1998 Atlanta Falcons went 14-2 and lost the Super Bowl. They then went into the 1999 draft and picked up the 42nd pick overall by trading their 2000 1st rounder. They selected TE Reggie Kelly, then proceeded to go 5-11 and lost the 5th overall pick.

That's the risk. And I can't remember if I said it earlier in this thread or another, but literally every team in the league is a train wreck season away from drafting in the top 5-10. It doesn't matter how stacked you are, if the wrong players get hurt, you're done.

There's only a handful of WRs in this league I would trade a top 5 pick for. AJ Brown isn't one of them.

Yes, the will be 5 QB's and the frost round will have lots of top players.

HOWEVER, what makes a draft great is depth at the positions a team needs. The quality in the 3rd through 6th rounds makes a draft great for most teams. Of course, those who got their franchise QB's. it was the greatest draft since the Marino draft.

The thing is that probably more team to contend with after the draft.

All the team that miss on WR in the draft could pivot to Brown after the draft.

Price for Brown keeps going up with these WR trades. Maybe they should revisit WR market next year and just go into the season with a 2 and a bunch of 3 and #4 WRs.
Price they ask can go up but if nobody pays it it’s not the price they get, it’s just Howie’s wet dream.

I’d much rather have Brown but I’m worried Philly will want a better package than what Miami got.
Philly can want whatever they want. Doesn’t mean they’ll get it. Won’t make or break the Patriots either way.

You really think Sam made a second account nine years ago, posted over 5000 times, and nobody noticed? Lol.

Are you really Andy?

I'd push back on this a little, when you have a guy like Brown who's shown he's willing to be pain in the ass if he's not happy, teams may be less likely to offer draft capital for the privilege.

I think it would be an advantage to have Vrabel coaching Brown, but I don't see how having Vrabel as the coach lessens the price Philly wants for him? Roseman is going to trade him to the highest bidder.

I think AJ is worth a First Rounder or Two consecutive Second Rounders. I would pitch the latter to them if I was Vrabel.

They won't have many suitors so the odds are in our favor: I will say this to the Pats experts we ain't getting Him for a Third. Brown's disgruntledness is what's going help us in the possible Trade.

Nothing is guaranteed but if the price for WRs has just gone up - which it apparently has - then Philly will likely get a better package from someone.

They will have to Trade Brown to his preferred destination: and I think Vrabel and the Patriots are at the Top lucky us.

I can see us giving Philly a potential first next season and a 3rd this season.. the problem for Philly is AJ wants to be traded and teams know this! It's no secret...
