NFL News Dolphins Trading Jaylen Waddle to Broncos

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
Buffalo and Denver are better than us right now: but the Homers will say otherwise.
Buffalo's defense is currently bottom 5 in the league, and their o-line now has a massive hole.

I rest my case your Honor.

Nah, your dumbass take is that Buffalo is somehow better, even though they lost half their defense, a starting O-lineman, and all they did was bring in DJ Braindead Moore.

So...they're better? Somehow?

You have plenty of bad takes, but this one might be up there with your Justin Fields for #3 overall.

IF Pats had got Waddle you'd be salivating it. I entertained the thought of the Dolphins moving him: thought we would be in on it. Really hoping A.J. Brown is still in play we don't have the horses that can consistently Beat Man Coverage. Not many powder puffs on the schedule in 26: we don't play the Jets or Dolphins every week.
Excuse me, as long as you think Bo Nix is a top 5 QB, hell as long as you think he's a top 10 QB you have LOST your credibility with me,

Bo Nix is not trash he had the most come from behind wins for a second year QB. I think with Waddle he'll be playing with the lead a lot more. I tip my cap to Denver for making that excellent move.

We gave a 32 away before for Cooks. The player you draft at 31 is magic beans.
PF2 would give every pick away for WRs. He’s done it before.

A massive overpay. People who think Waddle will be that 1300 yard WR again are hoping against hope. The past 3 years he has barely broken 1k. The past 2 years he failed to do it. He is trending down. I would not have even used a 2nd on him frankly. I don't think Doubs is all that much worse right now and they didn't have to spend a pick.

Sure wish the N.E. Patriots had a WR like Courtland Sutton: I would take his numbers and TD totals over the last three years thank you.

Not saying Sutton sucks. He is a good receiver. I am just saying he isn't a true #1 WR. Neither is Waddle.

Tua ain't his QB anymore I would say Tua was holding him back. I still say if the Patriots made this move it would be considered the Greatest heist ever. Waddle makes Denver very good on Offense: the already have a Defense.

We don't even have a legitimate #2 those who live in glass house shouldn't throw stones.

Doubs and Boutte are both legitimate #2 WRs. Sutton and Waddle may be better #2 WR, but that doesn't change things.

And you can critique another team's roster even if their roster is better than the Patriots.

Boutte disappeared some after his concussion: his positive plays were sparse as the season went on. Right now I think he's a #3 until further notice. I think most of your Pats experts would agree.

Ehhh I’m not sure you could say either of them are. Boutte has potential and Doubs has potential. Neither have had 800 yards receiving in a season. To say they’re legitimate number 2s based on production is a stretch, but number 2s on this team? Sure.

Again the odds are against this team going far without a 1000 yard receiver on this roster. Whether that comes from WR or TE remains to be seen. No one was able to separate from defenders in the playoffs and that was in part because of the lackluster O Line play but it was also the talent level of the offensive options.

How many yards do you think #2 WRs get on most teams? Quite a few teams’ #2 WR get as much or less than either Boutte or Doubs.

I think Doubs has a higher ceiling for the Pats than folks will allow. It's always a case of coveting the other teams players around here.

Before everyone jumps on me, I think he's probably 1000-1200 yards tops. But here on PF, he's immediately discounted because he's who they signed.

The Packers' offense is designed to spread the ball around. Even more than the Pats' offense. There is no real primary receiver on their team. So I think it depresses Doubs' production numbers.

I still think he will end up in primarily the slot and replace Diggs in that role. I think he will be a receiver that Maye feeds a lot. I think there is a good chance that he has similar production as Diggs did before Diggs fell off in the playoffs.

We are on the same page.

The AFC West is going to be brutal, like the NFC West already is:

- The Broncos have a top defense, and are obviously trying to get more explosive on offense.

- The Chargers made the playoffs even after losing both starting OTs. They have a very good defense, and their offense should be much improved with a better OL.

- The Chiefs have been the division heavyweight for 7 years. They are rebuilding, but still gave Mahomes.

- The Raiders won't be as much if a joke. They will have a rookie QB to build around, a very good RB, and have added a ton of talent on both sides of the ball in FA. They will still be bottom dwellers in 2026, but they won't be an automatic out.

Hopefully they will all beat the crapnout if each other.
